Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield made sure to throw as much shade as possible at Hue Jackson during Sunday’s game against the Bengals.
It’s no secret that the Cleveland Browns, and especially rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield, aren’t the biggest fans of former head coach Hue Jackson. Now that Jackson is coaching for the rival team, players like Mayfield aren’t afraid to throw shade.
During Sunday’s game between the Browns and Cincinnati Bengals, Mayfield was able to seal the victory by finding David Njoku for a massive 66-yard gain heading into the two-minute warning.
After the play was blown dead, Mayfield was spotted staring down his former head coach in the most savage way possible. You can watch a video of the play below.
Mayfield has been very outspoken about his opinions on Jackson, especially with how the former head coach handled his exit by going on a media tour to throw others under the bus. This isn’t the first time a Browns player trolled Hue, either, with Denzel Ward gifting him a ball after intercepting a pass in front of him the last time these two teams faced off.
The Browns ended up winning 26-18 to move to 7-7-1 on the year. It’s pretty hilarious to think that the Browns have already won more games since they’ve fired Jackson than the former Cleveland coach has during his entire time with the team.
As for Mayfield, he’s having an incredible year that will make him a serious candidate for the Rookie of the Year award. The Browns have struggled to find a franchise quarterback for decades, but Mayfield may finally be the answer.
