It’s nice knowing that there are certain stores you can rely upon during the holidays, and Walgreens is known for being around when you need those last minute items or to pick up some emergency items during a trip. Walgreens will be open for business on Christmas Eve to help with all of those holiday purchases.

Stores that are open 24 hours will remain open during Christmas Eve all the way through Christmas Day, with no changes in their schedules. For stores that operate on a limited schedule, be sure to call ahead before making your trip on Christmas Eve as you approach the evening as many stores will have modified schedules for the holiday and might close earlier than usual so that employees will be able to spend time with their families.

It’s also important to check pharmacy hours, as they could also be operating on a modified schedule for Christmas Eve and if you need to pick up regular medication or order new medication it’s important to check that they’ll be open. Some locations will have pharmacies open on Christmas Day, but that’s not the case for all stores.

Walgreens has become a destination on major holidays because it has everything you could possibly need, from gifts to groceries, medicine to makeup. It’s particularly useful if your luggage gets lost and you need some items to make it through until after Christmas, as most stores carry clothing. (Yes, it’s tourist clothing but most major stores are closed on Christmas so it’s your best bet)

With Walmart and Target closing early on Christmas Eve, Walgreens is the place to go for items that you might need to get through the holidays, and with so many locations to choose from it’s almost guaranteed that you’ll find one near you.
