Black Friday has come and gone and now the stockings have been hung by the chimney with care, but don’t count on shopping at Walmart on Christmas Day.
Walmart employees worked hard throughout the 2018 holiday season to make sure shoppers had everything they needed to make things merry and bright, and that’s why the company rewards its staff by closing all stores on Christmas Day.
From coming into work on Thanksgiving Day for early Black Friday deals to staying open until the last minute on Christmas Eve, Walmart makes sure that shoppers have every opportunity to stock up on holiday gifts and decor. Employees put in tons of hours to make sure the stores are well stocked and full of everything you need, and it’s nice to know that they have a chance to spend Christmas with their families and friends.
Stores will be open on Christmas Eve, with store hours varying by location. Some shoppers wait until the last minute to do their holiday shopping and Walmart will be there for you, but many stores close early on Christmas Eve. (Especially stores that are typically open 24 hours) Make sure you check that you have all the tape, wrapping paper, gifts and ingredients for your Christmas dinner before stores close on Christmas Eve because you won’t be able to head to Walmart to get anything until the day after Christmas.
It’s hard to believe how quickly time passed between Black Friday and Christmas Eve. It seems like those four to five weeks disappear to quickly each year. Walmart has been at the center of holiday shopping this year and having a day off to relax and celebrate the holiday is a welcome thing for so many employees.
If you plan to visit Walmart on Christmas Eve or the day after Christmas, be sure to call ahead to check store hours to find out when your local store is closing on Christmas Eve and when it will reopen on December 26.
