Brighton face Arsenal at AMEX Stadium on Wednesday, Dec. 26. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
The Premier League season reaches its halfway point with the annual Boxing Day games. Brighton host Arsenal at AMEX Stadium on Wednesday. The Seagulls are in the middle of the table, while the Gunners are challenging for a top-four spot going into Wednesday’s games.
Brighton lost their third straight game on Saturday, falling 2-0 to Bournemouth. Center-back Lewis Dunk will miss Wednesday’s game against Arsenal after he was sent off with two yellow cards against the Cherries. While Dunk will miss the game, Shane Duffy will return to the starting XI after serving a suspension. Duffy will form a center-back pairing with Leon Balogun, who started in place of Duffy last week. Glenn Murray did not start against Bournemouth but will likely return to the starting XI against Arsenal. Murray leads the club with eight goals this season.
Arsenal returned to the win column last weekend, beating Burnley 3-1. Over their last six games, the Gunners picked up 13 of a possible 18 points. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored twice against the Clarets, giving him a Premier League best 12 goals this season. Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette have formed a great partnership this season, as part of the second best attack in the Premier League. Only Manchester City have scored more goals than Arsenal, who have scored 40 goals. Unai Emery will have to make changes to his back four against Brighton. The Gunners have been hit with a string of injuries to a few of their defenders, testing the club’s depth.
