DraftKings CFB picks December 26: Pay up for Reagor?
We are done with the one Bowl per day business. Now we have at least three Bowl games every day between now and Sunday! That means a DraftKings CFB tournament every day as well!

There are no less than three tough defenses on this slate. It’s going to be tough sledding here for a lot of players on the slate. Who is in the best spots? Let’s try and find the weakest link.
The scoring for NCAA football is much the same as it is for the NFL with one notable exception: the super flex! That means aside from the flex position which is RB/WR, you can add another player from any position! Want four running backs? Go right ahead! Five wide receivers? Sure! Two quarterbacks? Of course! Just stay under the salary cap! There is also late swap, which is essential for contests with start times spanning several hours.

DraftKings CFB Quarterback Picks December 26
Top Tier:
We do have two top tier quarterbacks here. TaQuon Marshall has by far the best matchup, or does he? Minnesota’s secondary is the issue, not usually the run defense. Marshall is the better Georgia Tech passer, but how much will he actually throw?
Brett Rypien is the best pure passer on this slate, but the Boston College defense is one of the better ones here as well. Still, if paying up for a quarterback, Rypien is the safest bet.
Middle Tier:
Grayson Muehlstein will get the start for TCU again, but I hate his price almost as much as I hate the matchup. With only three games on tap, we may have to use some players in bad matchups, but there are a whole horde of things to dislike about this. I would much rather roll with Anthony Brown against a Boise State defense that has given up a lot of yards through the air.
Bargain Shoppers:
Tanner Morgan is easily the choice for Minnesota, and this is actually a pretty good spot to use him. Minnesota is a run first team, but Georgia Tech may be good enough to hold them on the ground. Still, Morgan isn’t the guy you want to put the game on.
Chase Garbers is probably the most underpriced quarterback in relation to potential. Garbers closed strong against good competition in Washington State, USC, Stanford, and Colorado. The TCU defense is pretty solid, but if we are forced to take a QB that isn’t in the best spot anyway, I really feel like Garbers is the most likely to produce at a lower price.
DraftKings CFB Running Back Picks December 26
Top Tier:
Alexander Mattison is easily the best back on the slate, and it isn’t really close. The matchup with Boston College is not a good one though. If Boise gets to the Eagles, it will more than likely be through the air. I would trust AJ Dillon more. Just make sure he is going to play.
Middle Tier:
There isn’t much to the middle tier at running back here. Mohamed Ibrahim is the best pure back on the slate, but this is a terrible matchup .That said, he shredded a good Wisconsin defense in the regular season finale. Ibrahim is priced down enough that I don’t mind using him as a feature back.
The only issue with that is that I feel Patrick Laird is pretty underpriced as well. The Cal offense hasn’t been very good at all down the stretch. This is a slate that could come down to touchdowns on a slate with a lot of stronger defenses. For that reason, I would lay off of Laird. Ibrahim or Dillon are far more likely to find the end zone, but Laird could outrush them all.
Bargain Shoppers:
Georgia Tech uses a few running backs just like most option teams do. What makes Georgia Tech a little more unique is the fact that the quarterback runs a lot more than in most option offenses. Jerry Howard gets first crack at the carries, but I don’t know that I really trust any of them. I would rather take a shot at Qua Searcy for much less than Howard.
With Darius Anderson out, Sewo Olonilua will likely see the most carries. Cal’s defense is tough, but not that tough. TCU offense is a very watered down version of what it was most of the season. Cal could make it look even worse. Despite that, I really like the price on Olonilua.
David Bailey and Travis Levy would likely split carries if Dillon can’t go. I would give Bailey the slight edge if Dillon is out, and I may not be opposed to using both in that situation.
DraftKings CFB Wide Receiver Picks December 26
Top Tier:
Jalen Reagor is likely the most talented player on this entire slate. Even if the TCU offense has trouble getting Reagor the ball under normal circumstances, they will run him on sweeps. The ball has to be in his hands. For that reason, I’m not even opposed to paying up for Reagor here. Without Michael Collins in the regular season finale, Reagor had his best game of the year with Muehlstein under center. He’s not going for 40 here, but 20 is a real possibility.

Middle Tier:
Tyler Johnson has been in double digits for DraftKings points every game since Minnesota’s week 5 bye. Most of that was with sloppy quarterback play. With Morgan under center, Johnson has been better. My only fear is if Minnesota doesn’t throw enough for Johnson to hit value.
I tend to think that Boise is going to have to throw more than they have recently, so Sean Modster is going to be one of my favorite targets. I really like A.J. Richardson too with John Hightower out.
Bargain Shoppers:
Jeff Smith has been the most productive Boston College receiver lately. Kobay White is still the most talented, but teams have been keying on him. I would expect Boise to do the same.
Moe Ways seems to have more of a rapport with Garbers than Vic Wharton does. Ways is only a possession receiver, but he had one of his best games against Stanford, a shut down defense. TCU is going to be the same. CT Thomas is worth a look in this tier as well, but I prefer Ways.
Jordan Duncan is too cheap. He returned with a vengeance against Stanford, hauling in five passes for 59 yards. Duncan could be even better than Ways here. Of course, the entire Cal offense is a risk. That’s why they are so cheap.
