DraftKings EuroLeague Basketball Picks December 28
We are back to a regular Thursday-Friday DraftKings EuroLeague slate this week. There seems to be better mid range players among these four games, so we may not be able to stack stars like we did yesterday.

The rotations can be frustrating sometimes as more players see the court than in your average NBA game. The games themselves are also shorter, playing four ten minute quarters as opposed to 12 minutes in the NBA. The court is smaller, the lane is bigger, and the three point line is closer, but the action is still what you would expect from world class basketball!
For DraftKings EuroLeague, we can’t expect 5x value like in the NBA. Most winning lineups are around 180-200 DraftKings points, which is around 3.5 – 4x value.

Guards:
Nick Calathes dropped 45.5 DraftKings points on Milan last week, and has a similarly strong matchp here against CSKA. Nate Wolters has the best matchup a guard can get, but is his ceiling as high as Calathes? I have my doubts. I would use Wolters in cash games though, and he is worth considering for $2,000 less in GPP formats. However, if Langford is still out, it’s probably best to pay for Calathes.
There are bad matchups abound in the middle tier of guards. The exception is the Munich guards, but they often cannibalize each other’s value. Stefan Jovic is by far the safer option if only using one of them.
The Gran Canaria backcourt is still a mess of injuries and inconsistency with the notable exception of Albert Oliver. He is cheap enough to use as a value pick as well.
Arturas Milaknis is still one of my favorite value plays so long as Leo Westermann is out. Wolters will always take some of the value, but Milaknis, like Oliver, is so cheap it doesn’t really matter. Using one or both of them can help you pay up in the frontcourt.
I don’t really want to play with any of these bad matchups, but there are a couple in the middle tier who seem to be consistent no matter what. One of those is Dino Hackett.
We need to keep an eye on the status of Norris Cole. He signed with Podgorica on December 21st, and should be good to go here. Cole could be a strong value play at $6,900.
Forwards:
Brandon Davies didn’t go nuts on Tel Aviv like we had hoped, but he gets an even better matchup with Gran Canaria today. The price is high, but the output has been there against weak teams in the middle. If you are paying up at forward today, Davies has by far the best matchup.

Earl Clark continues to put up solid numbers to little or no fanfare. I give him his due props in my pages, but his ownership is almost always low. Hop on the Earl Clark bandwagon. There’s plenty of room!
I usually tell you to attack the Zalgiris front because they have been weak lately. Honestly, I don’t really see anyone from Gran Canaria that I want to throw at them. I would much rather stack Davies and Aaron White against them.
Coty Clarke continues to be one of the better value plays at forward. I think I would rather ride his consistency than take a chance on a big game from James Gist or D.J. Strawberry. Although if you still want to go after Zalgiris, Strawberry is the way to go.
I can still get on Eulis Baez for a value play, but it totally depends on the matchup. There is a good one here today, but I find myself leaning towards Matt Lojeski instead. Old habits, I guess.
Edgaras Ulanovas is an elite value play based on the matchup with Gran Canaria. I want to stack both of these frontcourts against each other. Neither has been very good of late.
