FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – December 29, 2018
High Salary SG
Players costing over $6,667
James Harden (at NO – $12,500): Needs 52.9 fantasy points. It’s James Harden. He only had 53.4 fantasy points against the Celtics, but he’s still James Harden. And he’s catching the Pelicans, a poor defense, on a back-to-back. This should be easy pickings for Harden with the only concern being a blowout. Expect his assists to tick back up and the scoring will be there without an issue. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.
Bradley Beal (vs CHA – $8,400): Needs 35.6 fantasy points. Beal had 52.9 fantasy points against the Bulls on Friday. As long as John Wall is out of the lineup Beal is a very strong play. He’s the top option on Washington and has no issue getting his scoring numbers while chipping in with assists and rebounds. The Hornets are a good matchup as their defense isn’t great. Diagnosis: Fantastic option if Wall is out once again.
Donovan Mitchell (vs NY – $7,400): Needs 31.3 fantasy points. Mitchell has been up-and-down in his last six games. He was up against the Sixers on Dec. 27, finishing with 37.3 fantasy points. I suspect he’ll break the trend in this one because it’s the Knicks. Mitchell should be able to come up with plenty of points in this game while doing enough in the assist department to have a strong outing. Diagnosis: High ceiling and a great matchup.
