The Utah Jazz will look to throw the breaks on their roller coaster-like season when the New York Knicks pay a visit to Salt Lake City on Saturday.
It seems as if the Utah Jazz are on a roller coaster that they can’t stop.
The Jazz will try to throw the emergency breaks on their inconsistent season when they entertain the woeful New York Knicks on Saturday.
“Inconsistency” has been the theme of the 2018-19 season for the young Jazz. Coming into the season with high-hoops after a successful playoff run, Utah has never been able to throw their season into gear.
Part of the reason for their inability to shift into the high gear that propelled them a season ago is on the NBA scheduling Gods. The Jazz are the league-leaders in road games played so far this season, and they’re beginning to get a bit weary of being on the road.
That road-heavy schedule is beginning to ease up a bit, but their play is still — there’s that word again — inconsistent.
In just the past four games, they’ve blown out the Trail Blazers (120-90), lost a heartbreaker to the rival Thunder (107-106), waxed the Blazers again (117-96), and on Thursday, got waxed themselves at home against the 76ers (114-97).
Their blowout loss against Philadelphia dropped Utah to 7-8 at home.
Those four games have been a micronism of the Jazz’s entire season, but they’ll get a break against the Knicks (9-27), who has been consistently bad this season.

New York is currently in the ethos of a six-game losing streak, with their latest loss coming at the hands of the high-powered Milwaukee Bucks on Christmas Day (112-96). The Knicks have picked a bad time to embark on a losing streak as they embark on a five-game trip out west, but the one lone bright spot in an otherwise miserable season for the Knicks has been the rebirth of Emmanuel Mudiay, who has taken over the point guard reins and is having a comeback season.
