Golden State Warriors New Year’s resolution — Less infighting over free agency

Look, this is probably the last season the Warriors stay intact with the same roster but they’ve been through this before. Remember Harrison Barnes? He used to have the spot Durant has now, it wasn’t always Durant there. If they accept this season as a kind of last hurrah they’ll likely obtain another championship. If talk continues about pending Free Agency the team will unravel by the seems. There’s also the question of what’s going on behind the scenes? A player like Kevin Durant, who’s responded to hecklers and those talking trash on social media about his decision to leave OKC, likely was impacted by Draymond Green’s words realistically.

Would he ask for Green to be traded? Probably not, as it would fuel a narrative that he drove him out for his comments. However, would he subtly make a request that Green must be off the team if he returns to the Warriors in Free Agency? Maybe… Then if DeMarcus Cousins returns fully healthy in general, what happens then? Do they resign Cousins to a MAX contract while letting go of one or perhaps, two of Durant, Thompson, and Green? At the end of the day, everything goes back to Stephen Curry and what he wants… Curry and splash brother Thompson are key to the Warriors’ system after all.
