3. Eric Musselman

Musselman has an undefeated (13-0) top-10 team at Nevada right now, and he’s got a 94-29 record (.764 win percentage) into his fourth season as Wolfpack coach. Comfort and ongoing job security aside, Musselman will be a candidate to jump to a bigger school until he does so or takes himself off the radar.

Nevada has a senior-laden team this year, so the roster will naturally get a lot younger next year. Musselman has some of his father Bill in him, as an intense personality that’s competitive and driven, which may wear on a fan base and/or superiors that can’t embrace it. He’s also been a bit transient, never staying in one job longer than four seasons over the past 20-plus years, but a lot of that can be chalked up to the life of an assistant coach.

Musselman has a wide range of experience, as a head coach (CBA, NBA, G-League and internationally) and an assistant (NBA, Arizona State and LSU). Regardless of how the Wolfpack finish this season, his stock may never be higher and UCLA will stand among his options to make a jump until further notice.
