For many people New Year’s Day marks the end of the holiday season, but will you be able to make a trip to Costco on New Year’s Day?

The holidays are almost over and many people get back into their daily routines on New Year’s Day, but if you’re looking to make a trip to Costco you’re out of luck because Costco is closed on New Year’s Day.

Costco, home of the massive supplies of toilet paper and paper towels, is a destination for holiday shopping as people get ready to receive overnight guests at their homes. With the holidays over, many people are getting back into their routines. Kids are going back to school, people are returning to work and many people are trying to start on their New Year’s resolutions by buying healthy foods to replace all of the holiday treats that have been around the house.

The warehouse chain is known for having just about everything you might need, but what’s more well known is how it is also home to things you never knew you needed. It’s easy to run in to purchase one item and leave with hundreds of dollars worth of product.

Costco is open for business most days out of the year except for major holidays. Those holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Their holiday schedule never changes, but their store hours can change so be sure to check on days like Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve to see if locations are closing early.

For reference, banks and post offices will be closed on New Year’s Day and mail will not be delivered. While Costco is closed, you can visit Walmart and Target, which are both open during their normal operating hours on New Year’s Day.
