Welcome to NHL DFS Man Advantage for Wednesday night January 2nd! First, I want to wish everyone a Happy 2019 to everyone reading and thank you all for reading in 2018 and hope you continue to read in 2019!

Tonight we get a small 6 game NHL DFS slate but we have a couple of the best players in the league we can target to at the top of our lineups. In net it gets little dicey with some average netminders to pick through, and Matt Murray. Enough small talk for today, let’s just get at it.

NHL DFS Goalies:

You know the pickings are slim when I am turning to Ben Bishop ($8,100) for my top goalie choice. Bishop does have a good matchup at home with a Devil team that is only ahead of 6 other teams in the league wide standings. While the Devils have played better of late they are not a good team and Bishop comes in with a 3-1-1 record in his last 5 and has only allowed 8 goals in that span.

Matt Murray ($8,000) and the Penguins are on fire winning 6 straight games, 5 of which Murray started and won. In the 5 games Murray won for the Penguins during this winning streak he has only allowed 7 goals.

My last choice in net is a goalie I never thought I would use this season, Jacob Markstrom ($7,800). Markstrom has an ideal matchup with the Senators tonight and comes in to tonight’s game winning 8 of his last 9 starts and is averaging 6.2 FPPG in that span

NHL DFS Top Players

High Tier:

Connor McDavid ($7,900) – McDavid is riding a 4 games multi-point streak in which he has totaled 2 goals and 7 assists in the last 4. Edmonton visits Arizona on Wednesday night, a team that is allowing near 4 goals per game in their last 5 (18 goals in 5 games)

Sidney Crosby ($7,400) – I find it near impossible to not play Crosby when he is locked in like he is right now. Over the Penguins 6 game winning streak Crosby has 9 points and has 5 multi point games.

More from FanSided

Elias Pettersson ($6,500) – Pettersson has 2 goals and an assist in his last 3 games and is averaging over 4 FPPG in that span. Pettersson centers the Canucks second line with Nikolay Goldobin ($3,500) and Brock Boeser ($5,800) as well as playing the point on the first PP unit.

Mid Tier:

Dylan Larkin ($6,300) – Larking is now up to a 14 game point streak and like Crosby it’s hard to not play Larkin as long as he has his streak going. Larkin centers the Wings top line and the team’s top PP unit as well and is averaging over 23 minutes per game during his point streak

Erik Karlsson ($5,800) – Karlsson also has himself a nice long point streak as well, Karlsson has a 10 gamer which he has 1 goal and 15 assists and is averaging 6.3 FPPG

Clayton Keller ($4,700) – Keller has 5 assists in the Coyotes last 4 games and is playing just around 20 minutes per game. Keller plays along side Richard Panik ($3,400) and Derek Stepan ($4,200) on the Yotes top line as well as on the teams 1st PP unit.

Value Tier:

Jason Spezza ($3,900) – With this slate being as small as it is the value tier is pretty baron tonight, as you can tell since I am promoting Jason Spezza for tonight. In his last 10 games Spezza has 1 goal and 5 assists and averaging 2.6 FPPG. Spezza centers the Stars 4th line but does also center the teams 1st PP unit

Alex Galchenyuk ($3,800) – Galchenyuk has been finally heating up scoring 3 goals and 3 assists in the last 4 games and averaging 5.2 FPPG. Galchenyuk plays on the Yotes second line and also the teams 2nd PP unit.

Noah Hanifin ($3,700) – Hanifin comes in to Wednesday’s game with assists in 3 straight games and also has 8 SOG in that span as well as averaging over 4 FPPG.

Top Line Stacks:

Colorado 1 : Of course…

Pittsburgh 3 : You can also do what I’ve done the past few nights and pair Kessel with Sid

NY Rangers 1

Calgary 1

Edmonton 1 : McDavid has two very cheap wingers
