NHL DFS Man Advantage Thursday January 3rd
By Matt Vecchio
Welcome to NHL DFS Man Advantage for Thursday night January 3rd. Tonight there are 7 games on the schedule for us on the main slate for us. Unlike last night there are a plethora of goaltending options to go along some of the league’s top stars on offense as well.
NHL DFS Goalies
Tonight I don’t have a top NHL DFS goaltending choice, I have 3. Andrei Vasilevskiy ($8,300) probably has the easiest game in LA against the leagues worst team. Vasilevskiy comes in riding a 5 game win streak in which he has allowed 16 goals, which isn’t that good.
Vasilevskiy has been lucky during his streak to get some good offense to bail him out. Next on the list tonight is Braden Holtby ($8,200) in St Louis, I have used goalies (Murray and Lunqvist) against them in their last two game and they did not disappoint, and I don’t see Holtby disappointing either.
My last “top choice” is NY Islanders goalie Thomas Greiss ($8,100) if he starts. Greiss gets a game against the lowly Blackhawks at home which is why he is on my radar.
Other choices in net for me would be who ever ends up in-goal for Carolina tonight against Philly who just can’t seem to break through. Also I like Linus Ullmark ($7,800) and Collin Delia ($7,200) considering either of them start
NHL DFS Top Individual Players
High Tier:
Nikita Kucherov ($7,800) – It is amazing how well Kucherov is play right now. In his last 10 games Kuch has 22 points (7 goals 15 assists), is averaging 6.8 FPPG and has a matchup with the Kings and their 4th worst goal differential (-30). Kucherov, Brayden Point, and Tyler Johnson are also my favorite line stack tonight
Brad Marchand ($7,200) – Marchand enters Thursday playing exceptionally well in his last 5 with 6 goals and 9 assists in that span as well as averaging right around 20 mins per game
Aleksander Barkov ($6,800) – Barkov centers my second favorite line stack tonight with Justin Huberdeau and Evgenii Dadonov. In his last 5 games Barkov has no oals, but has 6 assists.
Mid Tier:
Mathew Barzal ($6,300) – Barzal is playing the best of hockey the season right now with 14 points in his last 10 games while averaging 5.6 FPPG. Barzal and linemates Anthony Beauvillier and Josh Bailey make for a decent line stack.
Nicklas Backstrom ($6,000) – While he hasn’t scored in 10 straight games, Backstrom does have 10 assists in that time frame. Backstrom is centering the Caps top line and this small slump by Alexander Ovechkin, 11 points in 10 games. If you think this duo will break out tonight than stack them!
Jeff Petry ($5,400) – Petry has only 1 goal and 2 assists in his last 5 games but is averaging 3.7 FPPG. Petry does it with peripheral stats on most nights with 14 shots on goal in the last 5 games
Value Tier:
Jaccob Slavin ($4,300) – Slavin has only 2 assists in his last 5 games but does have 10 SOG and 11 BS in that span well
Casey Cizikas ($3,500) – Cizikas has 1 goal and 2 assists in his last 5 games, and also 10 SOG. He does center the 4th linedoe rhe sends.
Evan Rodriques ($3,300) – Rodrigues has not been playing well but he did skate with the top line in practice on Wednesday in place of the injured Jack Eichel. If Eicel does miss, than I will probably be all in on Rodrigues.
NHL DFS Line stacks
Philadelphia 2
Carolina 1
Buffalo 1 : If Eichel plays
Calgary 1
Montreal 3: Great value here
