DraftKings EuroLeague Basketball Picks January 4
There are a lot more similar players for our DraftKings EuroLeague picks today. Yesterday there were clear cut options. Mike James came through and Goga Bitadze put up huge numbers at 70% ownership. Don’t count on that repeating itself. Ownership is going to be spread out today.

The rotations can be frustrating sometimes as more players see the court than in your average NBA game. The games themselves are also shorter, playing four ten minute quarters as opposed to 12 minutes in the NBA. The court is smaller, the lane is bigger, and the three point line is closer, but the action is still what you would expect from world class basketball!
For DraftKings EuroLeague, we can’t expect 5x value like in the NBA. Most winning lineups are around 180-200 DraftKings points, which is around 3.5 – 4x value.

Guards:
Nick Calathes is $2,700 more than any other guard, and considering he put up 39.75 DraftKings points in the first game against Olympiacos, it’s hard to argue that he’s not worth it. Nate Wolters put up 31.25 on CSKA in the first meeting, but is his ankle really okay?
A lot of people are going to be on Toney Douglas because of what he did to Olympiacos last round, but this matchup with Barcelona is a lot tougher. You could run it back with Thomas Huertel, but there are better options for the price. I would rather use Marko Guduric against Baskonia for around the same price.
Cory Higgins was the guy you wanted against Zalgiris in the first meeting, but he has been cold lately and Nando de Colo has been running hot. It may be best to avoid this entirely, but these two have the best matchup of the day for guards. One of them is going to punish Zalgiris, but which one? It was Sergio Rodriguez in the first meeting, but he has just 41.5 DraftKings points in the last three games combined. Or two full points less than what he had in the first tilt with Zalgiris!
So much for Janis Strelnieks as a value play. We need to go a little lower today. Kevin Pangos has 37 DraftKings points over the last two rounds, and has a nice matchup here with Darussafaka. Arturas Milaknis has also played well with Leo Westermann out. Westermann is out again, so Milaknis is a strong cash play and a decent GPP option.
I don’t really like this matchup for Markel Brown, but he keeps putting up solid numbers regardless of the opponent. I think I would rather go with Brown than take a chance on the fourth CSKA guard (Dino Hackett).
Derrick Walton seems to have taken the minutes that Thomas Walkup was getting, and he is going a lot more with them. This is a really good spot for Walton at a very reasonable price.
Forwards:
Will Clyburn racked up 37.75 DraftKings points in the first meeting with Zalgiris. Brandon Davies had just 13.25 in that one despite playing 22 minutes. Davies has played better lately, but Clyburn is still the way to go in the head to head matchup.

Nikola Milutinov could be just as good as the top tier today. He has at least 22 DraftKings points in four straight and seven of the last eight games. This is a good matchup against Athens as well. Georgios Printezis had a better game in the first matchup, but Milutinov has been the guy you want lately.
MIchael Eric put up 31.25 DraftKings points in the first game against Barcelona. However, I think I would rather go after Baskonia, who is without Tornike Shengelia for a few months. That means Joffrey Lauvergne and Jan Vesely could be sneaky plays. Vincent Poirier will get the biggest boost for Baskonia, but I still don’t know that I would play him here.
Adam Hanga is in play here again. I only use him when the matchup is right lately. However, with Joffrey and Aaron White around the same price, I don’t think Hanga will get a whole lot of attention.
Jeremy Evans and DeShaun Thomas are solid mid range plays if you are going to build a balanced lineup. However, I see them more as cash game plays. They don’t have a ton of upside.
Pierre Oriola and Alec Peters remain good value picks. We don’t have anyone that is going to crush value in this tier like Goga yesterday, which means this is all the more important when trolling for value. Stephane Lasme and Kevin Seraphin are the guys with more upside. I would take a shot on either of them in GPP formats.
Shavon Shields could be a monster with Shengelia out. Despite the poor matchup, I’m going to have some exposure to him today.
