It looks as if the national championship game is expected to be a tight one. The battle between Clemson and Alabama for the college football crown should be an exciting, high-scoring affair.

Expectations for this season’s college football national championship game are high. And it honestly makes a ton of sense all things considered. The Alabama Crimson Tide and the Clemson Tigers are by far the two best teams in the country and it just so happens that these two teams have two of the most exciting offenses in all of college football. That probably makes the oddsmakers very interested in this game.

But, guessing about how to bet on this game isn’t so simple. If someone were to only account for those dynamic offenses led by Tua Tagovailoa and Trevor Lawrence, then it’d be easy to take the over on this game, given that the expected total for this game currently only sits at 59.5 points.

However, both Alabama and Clemson also boast two of the best defenses this season. And that makes things slightly more complicated.

What seems inevitable is that this game should be close. The Tigers and the Tide have been atop the college football mountain over the past few seasons and this year is no different. These two teams are arguably the most talented in the country and they have the most complete rosters around.

And so, these teams are just about as good as possible. That should make Monday night thrilling. Here’s what the good folks over at Odds Shark expect in this game:

  • Over/Under: 59.5
  • Point Spread: Alabama -5.5
  • Moneylines: Alabama -200, Clemson +190

This is certainly a national championship game that appears capable of going either way. Both Clemson and Alabama have what it takes to come out on top this season. Both have done plenty to prove worthy of winning the title this season.
