The Duke Blue Devils will start to get tested by ACC competition on Saturday night as the Clemson Tigers go on the road to Cameron Indoor.
The Duke Blue Devils have not been perfect in the 2018-19 college basketball season, even if they are the top-ranked team in the country. A loss to Gonzaga in the Maui Invitational is their lone blemish on the season to this point. However, they now start conference play as they will host the Clemson Tigers, sitting at 9-3, to Cameron Indoor Stadium on Saturday.
This Clemson team can play at a high level, without question. However, it’s likely that they are not going to be in the same stratosphere as this Duke team.
As many college basketball fans know, this Duke squad is loaded across the board at the top of their rotation. Both RJ Barrett and Zion Williamson could be in the conversation for the No. 1 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. Meanwhile, the Blue Devils also have other star freshmen like Cam Reddish and Tre Jones that supplement those two players.

Subsequently, Clemson is likely going to go on the road for this game and put forth a strong effort. At the end of the day, though, it’s hard to think that the Tigers have what it takes to pull the upset. Then again, anything can happen in the ACC.

Aside from the loss in Maui to Gonzaga, Duke has largely been untouchable this season. That’s kind of what you’d expect with Zion and the rest of the Blue Devils group of stars. And while this Clemson group is a talented bunch that can pull off upsets in the ACC, it’s hard to think that the Tigers can do it in this one.
