The No. 8 Michigan State Spartans travel over to Columbus, Ohio to face off against the No. 14 Ohio State Buckeyes in the Value City Arena.
It’s been a little while since the No. 8 Michigan State Spartans have lost a game. On Nov. 27, Michigan State fell to the Louisville Cardinals on the road in overtime by a total of four points. Since then the Spartans have won every game that they’ve played and all but two have been double-digit victories.
But No. 14 Ohio State at 12-1 isn’t some pushover for the Spartans to just bulldoze through with ease. The Buckeyes appear to be a formidable foe, scoring 78 points per game while limiting their opponents to 61.9 points per game. Ohio State makes 46.8 percent of its shots while their foes make just 38.2 percent.
Michigan State could be in for a tough time in Value City Arena this weekend. The Spartans will need Cassius Winston, who is scoring 17.1 points per game while dealing 7.8 assists per game, to step up and have a solid performance on the road if they’re going to get past the Buckeyes.
The Buckeyes should be ready for Winston, but they’ll also need someone to answer his scoring output. It looks likely that Kaleb Wesson will need some help. Wesson has been good for the Buckeyes though, averaging 16.5 points and 6.8 rebounds per game for Ohio State this year.
