High Value PF

Players costing $6,667 or under

Thaddeus Young (at TOR – $5,900): Needs 25.3 fantasy points. Young had 31 fantasy points against the Bulls on Jan. 4. Minutes are rarely an issue for him and if Turner doesn’t play, that only increases his value. He had 27.5 fantasy points against the Raptors on Dec. 19. Much like Sabonis, you can take him with confidence if Turner is out. If Turner plays, he’s still a reliable option, but his ceiling lowers. Diagnosis: Reliable with a sliding ceiling depending on the status of Turner.

Jerami Grant (vs WAS – $5,600): Needs 24 fantasy points. Gran has been down in three of his last four games. But it’s the Wizards. Grant had 40.8 fantasy points against the Wizards on Nov. 2. Minutes are rarely an issue for him and neither are opportunities. His scoring is down, but he still gets rebounds and typically chips in with defense. And it’s the Wizards. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.

Bam Adebayo (at ATL – $4,400): Needs 18.9 fantasy points. I don’t know how the Miami frontcourt is going to shake out. But Adebayo has played well in three of the last four games. One of the Miami frontcourt players is likely to have a strong outing given the matchup. Throw a dart and take your pick. My pick is Adebayo just due to his talent, but his minutes are the least guaranteed. Diagnosis: Slight, but a high ceiling.
