Is The Good Doctor new tonight, January 7? Fans of the ABC medical drama will be asking that question, especially with many other TV series returning after the new year. But with this show, it’s a little more complicated.

ABC is shifting its primetime schedule this Monday, because the network is expanding the first episode of The Bachelor season 23 from two hours to three hours. Traditionally, the reality show would be The Good Doctor‘s lead-in; this week, it’s taking over the Freddie Highmore program’s time slot.

Fans who want to know what happens next after the midseason cliffhanger will have to wait one more week, until Jan. 14 at the regular time of 10 p.m. The appropriately titled “Quarantine, Part Two” picks up where the previous episode left off—with St. Bonaventure Hospital in a lockdown and Dr. Audrey Lim (Christina Chang) in critical condition.

Will Dr. Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore) and his colleagues be able to rally and save their fellow doctor, let alone all the other patients trapped in the hospital with them? Both questions will be answered next week.

In the meantime, fans can refresh their memories by watching the first part of “Quarantine” either streaming free on Hulu or through the ABC website. It’s definitely a good idea to catch up now, as The Good Doctor season 2 is returning with an awful lot going on!

While the extra wait may not be good news for TV fans, they can rest easy knowing that the midseason premiere is going to tie up all the loose ends and get this critically acclaimed medical drama restarted with a bang.
