NFL DFS Best Plays and Sleepers – Divisional Weekend Early Look
By John Fazio
Wild card weekend provided upsets and crazy finishes leading to some interesting match-ups here in the divisional playoffs. Let’s look at the best NFL DFS Best Plays we can find so far.
Hunter Henry, TE LA Chargers
Henry is likely to be cleared to play this week and at a minimum price-tag should easily cover salary based expectations making him a NFL DFS best plays roster. The Chargers current TE’s, Antonio Gates and Sean Culkin, are all but extinct from a fantasy perspective. Last year in the 14 games Henry played, he caught 45 passes for nearly 600 yards scoring 4 touchdowns. Although he will be on a restricted snap count, his pass catching ability makes him very productive in the red zone.
Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup, WR’s Dallas
With Beasley very questionable and Hurns already out, these 2 will receive an overwhelming target share from QB Prescott. Each one is a viable roster with Gallup costing only $4500 on DraftKings.
Tavon Austin, WR Dallas
If Beasley is ruled out, Austin will become WR #3 in the Cowboy pass offense and is priced at rock bottom. Certainly worth a dart throw in tournament play.
Andrew Luck, QB Indianapolis
Priced on DraftKings at $6200 (with $7000 the top and $5200 the bottom), I believe Luck has the potential of recording 30+ points. The Chiefs are ranked a lowly 28th against the QB position this season, and Luck is arguably the most accurate, best quick decision-making QB in the game today.
Marlon Mack, RB Indianapolis
Mack is priced at $5800 in comparison with Elliott coasting $8200. He’s running against a very porous Chiefs defensive line and has averaged 133.5 yards in the last 2 games. All the skill position players on the Colts look very good to me this week.
Nick Foles, QB Philadelphia
Priced at $5400 (see above ranges), Foles offers exceptional value versus the Saints who rank 32nd (last) against QB’s and 31st against wide receivers. Twisting the Eagles projections this time around are the results from week 11, when Philly lost at New Orleans 48 – 7. Just as with the Charger/Ravens game last Sunday, prior results can be thrown out the window. Playoffs are truly a second season.
Alshon Jeffery and Nelson Agholor, WR’s Philadelphia
Stacking these 2 top WR’s with QB Foles, never will there be another occasion where the lowest priced combinations are playing against the worst defenses of both positions. Each man will get 5-9 targets with statistically at least 1-2 chances of scoring a touchdown. Last week I suggested the Foles/Agholor stack which fizzled when Agholor dropped a TD pass on the final drive. He catches that ball and he easily covers his $4300 price-tag.
Chargers Defense
This team is coming together exceptionally well and amazingly play much better on the road. They are only a 4 point underdog at New England this Sunday, meaning the odds-makers make them a virtual pick on a neutral field. I think the Chargers will win this game. If that happens, they will get turnovers and sacks to make their DST very productive to roster.
