The Duke Blue Devils play their first true road game of the season, traveling to take on the Wake Forest Demon Deacons in an ACC matchup.
Ranked as the top team in college basketball, the Duke Blue Devils have been near impossible to stop this season. Aside from their loss to Gonzaga — their third game in as many days in Maui — head coach Mike Krzyzewski’s team has been fantastic. Now they are getting into ACC play, which includes going for a true road game the first time this season, facing the Wake Forest Demon Deacons.
We know the cast of characters that star for this Duke team by now. Zion Williamson is a phenom in the highest regard, an athletic force that no one can contain. With fellow freshmen RJ Barrett, Cam Reddish and Tre Jones, this group can strike in any manner at any moment.
Wake Forest is not a bad team by any stretch, particularly when it comes to guard Brandon Childress. The guard has averaged over 17 points and four assists per game this season en route to the Demon Deacons’ 7-6 record. Having said that, he’ll need a transcendent game to beat the Blue Devils.

On the surface, it appears that Duke is far more talented than Wake Forest in this matchup. The beauty of the ACC and young teams, however, is that anything can happen.

Yes, Wake Forest is an inferior opponent for this dynamic Duke team. However, it will be interesting to see how Williamson, Barrett and Co. handle themselves on the road in an ACC matchup. They should win, but be on the lookout for any type of growing pains or faltering as they head away from Cameron.
