NHL DFS Man Advantage Tuesday January 8th
By Matt Vecchio
Welcome to NHL DFS Man Advantage for Tuesday night January 8th! Tonight after a few days of small to medium slates we get a huge 11 game slate tonight. There are a ton of great players available which will make for a wide variety of lineup builds.
With teams like Washington, Winnipeg, Colorado, Tampa Bay, and Edmonton to name a few we have so much talent we will have to find a way to balance our rosters and get the right value plays in to make room for the top guys. Goaltending is another spot where there are a bunch of top talents available and it will be hard to find a good cheap option so it might be a night where you have to pay for your NHL DFS goalie.
NHL DFS Goalies
To be completely honest I am not sure who my #1 goalie is tonight because I really like a few different ones. If I had to lean one way I would probably go with Marc-Andre Fleury ($8,200). Fleury has gone 11 straight games without a regulation loss (8-0-3) and looks to keep that roll going against a Ranger team that was just shutout by a Arizona Coyote team that gave up 15 goals in their previous 4 games. In his last 4 starts Flower is undefeated and has only given up 4 goals and made 102 saves.
I have 4 other goalies who are all viable options and I do not have a enough space to write them all up:
1 – Matt Murray ($8,200) vs Florida
2 – Braden Holtby ($8,400) vs Philadelphia
3 – Carter Hutton ($7,900) vs New Jersey
4 – Ben Bishop ($7,800) @ St. Louis
My last goalie is suddenly near unbeatable Robin Lehner ($8,100) against a Carolina team that averages 37.4 SH/G this season as well as only scoring 2.6 G/G. Lehner has won 7 straight starts and allowed only 8 goals during his current winning streak. If Thomas Greiss ($8,100) is also a great play, but just not as highly ranked at Lehner.
NHL DFS Top Individual Players:
High Tier
Nikita Kucherov ($7,900) – Kucherov has his point streak snapped on Saturday night, and Tuesday night is an opportunity for him to begin a new one. I don’t really need to give you his stats, if you play NHL DFS then you know how hot he has been. I am locking him and maybe one of his linemates in for Tuesday (Tyler Johnson, Brayden Point)
Alexander Radulov ($7,400) – Radulov has 3 goals and 5 assists in his last 5 games for the Stars and has a matchup with the Blues, who even thought they shut out Philadelphia on Monday, are not a great defensive team. St Louis has allowed 14 goals in their last 4 games and allow 3.3 G/G on average this season

Evgeni Malkin ($6,900) – Malkin had been ice-cold but he has points in 5 of his last 6 games (2 goals 5 assists). Malkin along with Patric Honqvist and Dominik Simon are one of my favorite line stacks as well tonight
Mid Tier
Artemi Panarin ($6,700) – Quietly Panarin has a 7 game point streak for the Blue Jackets with 4 goals and 7 assists during this streak. What gets lost in how good Tampa is offensively is how horrible they have been defensively of late, in their last 5 games they have allowed 18 goals for a 3.6 goal against per game average. Also consider Cam Atkinson and Pierre-Luc Dubois as a stack with The Bread Man
Brandon Pirri ($5,900) – Pirri’s was sent to the minors late last week but has been recalled to Vegas from Chicago, which should not come as a surprise considering he racked up 6 goals and 2 helpers in eight games during his previous spell in Vegas. With Max Pacioretty back at full strength, Pirri may have to settle for a bottom-six role, which may limit his opportunities to get on the score sheet.
Josh Morrissey ($5,200) – Morrissey is the Jets best defenseman right now and nobody on the team is playing more minutes of late. Morrissey has a goal and 2 assists in the teams last 3 games, and averaging 5.5 FPPG.
Value Tier
Charlie Coyle ($4,900) – Coyle has his modest 4 game point streak snapped on Monday night, During his streak Coyle has 2 goals and 4 assists and was averaging 46 FPPG. Coyle centers Minnesota’s second like with Zach Parise and Luke Kunin.
David Perron ($4,600) – Another player who is quietly on a 7 game point streak is Perron. Over his 7 game streak Perron has 3 goals and 7 assists, as well as averaging 4.1 FPPG in the last 7. Perron plays wing along with Alex Steen and center Ryan O’Reilly on the Blues second line ans also on the teams 1st PP unit.
Filip Hronek ($3,600) – Hronek has 1 goal and 2 assists in the Wings last 2 games averaging 5.75 FPPG in the last 2. Hronek is on the Wings 2nd line d pair and also the teams second PP unit as well.
NHL DFS Line Stacks:
Colorado 1 : 3 of the best in the game currently
San Jose 1 (value) San Jose 3
Edmonton 1 : I really like Draisaitl as a one-off play also
Vegas 1
Winnipeg 2
Washington 3 (Value)
Boston 1
