50. . Edge. Clemson. Clelin Ferrell. 8. player

The Detroit Lions failed to make the playoffs for the second straight season, and there are serious questions as to whether or not Matthew Stafford is ever going to be able to lead this team deep into the playoffs. He has the talent to put together great seasons in terms of statistics, but still does not have that signature playoff win on his resume.

This season, the Lions struggled on both sides of the ball, and up front, they really got no pass rush. In fact, only the Oakland Raiders were worse than the Lions when it came to getting pressure, so that is definitely an area they need to address in the 2019 NFL Draft.

When it comes to this draft class, there are a couple of names who should be called early, including Clelin Ferrell from Clemson. Ferrell helped lead the Tigers to the College Football Playoff National Championship Game, and at the next level, he is going to be a guy who averages double-digit sacks.

Ferrell is absolutely explosive off the edge, and based on this draft order, he could be gone by the time the Lions pick at No. 8. If he is available, it would be a best-case scenario for Detroit, who need to get better at getting after the quarterback if they are ever going to get to the top of the NFC North.
