High Value SG

Players costing $6,667 or under

Malcolm Brogdon (at HOU – $5,700): Needs 24 fantasy points. I will continue to roll with Brogdon until he gives me a reason not to. He’s been over 33 fantasy points in his last two games. He’s been a reliable option all season, the minutes are always there, and he typically does a bit of everything. This feels like a game where he steps up and continues to roll because there are still defensive issues in Houston. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.

Austin Rivers (vs MIL – $5,400): Needs 22.7 fantasy points. Rivers was down to 17.6 fantasy points against the Nuggets on Jan. 7. I’m not too concerned as the minutes continue to be there and he’ll always get shots. It was Gerald Green who had the big game against the Nuggets, but Rivers is just as capable. I like him in this game as he did find success against the Bucks last season, averaging 30.6 fantasy points in two games against them. Diagnosis: Opportunities are there and the ceiling is high.

Jordan Clarkson (at NO – $5,000): Needs 21 fantasy points. Clarkson had 34.9 fantasy points against the Pacers on Tuesday. And he had 36.3 fantasy points against the Pelicans on Jan. 5. It’s a back-to-back, which are always tough and the Pelicans are good at home. But I still don’t trust their defense and Clarkson is a professional scorer if nothing else. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.
