High Value C

Players costing $6,667 or under

Al Horford (at MIA – $6,500): Needs 29.1 fantasy points. Minutes held Horford back from accomplishing much on Wednesday. His minutes have been down altogether recently, but he’s still provided good value. He does a bit of everything and remains at a good salary given the minutes he does get. If nothing else, he should get you value in this one. Diagnosis: Reliable with a decent ceiling.

Jakob Poeltl (vs OKC – $4,700): Needs 21.1 fantasy points. Poeltl didn’t do anything against the Grizzlies on Wednesday, but he typically gets enough minutes to produce. This is largely about the matchup as the Thunder will be playing undersized due to the injury to Noel. Poeltl can definitely take advantage of them. Diagnosis: Good ceiling and good circumstances.

Mason Plumlee (vs LAC – $4,500): Needs 20.2 fantasy points. Plumlee might be out of the rotation as the Nuggets get healthy, which is concerning. But the Clippers frontcourt might see him get some extra run in this game. He had 27.8 fantasy points against the Clippers on Dec. 22. If he can get minutes, he’ll put up numbers. There is just no guarantee that the minutes will be there right now. Diagnosis: Good ceiling if the minutes return.
