High Salary SG

Players costing over $6,667

DeMar DeRozan (vs OKC – $9,000): Needs 37.9 fantasy points. DeRozan was down to 20 fantasy points against the Grizzlies. He’s been up-and-down during this recent stretch. He was down on Wednesday, so if the trend continues, he’ll be up on Thursday. It’s a back-to-back for the Spurs, but the Thunder defense has slipped in a big way and we know DeRozan is better than he showed against the Grizzlies. Diagnosis: Trust him to bounce back with a strong outing.

Buddy Hield (vs DET – $7,200): Needs 30.4 fantasy points. Hield hasn’t been good in the last two games, failing to crack 20 fantasy points in each contest. The concern with Hield is always the same. His ceiling is high, but his value is largely tied to his scoring. So when he’s not scoring, he’s not giving you much of anything else. The opportunities will continue to be there, which certainly helps. The matchup is good with the Pistons being on a back-to-back. Diagnosis: Inconsistent, but a high ceiling.

Lou Williams (at DEN – $7,000): Needs 29.5 fantasy points. I like Williams more than Hield on Thursday largely due to his reliability. He’s a better scorer and he chips in with assists. With the Nuggets defense regressing, this one should be a shootout. And I’ll take my chances with the offensive talent of Williams if it does turn into a track meet. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a high ceiling.
