DraftKings EuroLeague Basketball Picks January 11
We finish off our two round week of DraftKings EuroLeague with a five game Friday. There are a lot of good options on this slate with injuries opening up some value and enhancing the value of incumbents. Who is affected the most?

The rotations can be frustrating sometimes as more players see the court than in your average NBA game. The games themselves are also shorter, playing four ten minute quarters as opposed to 12 minutes in the NBA. The court is smaller, the lane is bigger, and the three point line is closer, but the action is still what you would expect from world class basketball!
For DraftKings EuroLeague, we can’t expect 5x value like in the NBA. Most winning lineups are around 180-200 DraftKings points, which is around 3.5 – 4x value.

Guards:
Yes, Mike James is on here, but he has another average matchup. What did that mean on Wednesday? James still went for a cool 45.25 DraftKings points against Barcelona. Munich isn’t going to scare me off of James. He put 36 on them in the first meeting.
If you want a James fade, Norris Cole is the way to go. Cole has played in three EuroLeauge contests. He has 105.5 DraftKings points in those three matches. I actually prefer Cole with a really good matchup with Darussafaka and him being $3,400 less than James. You can easily use Cole and run it back with Toney Douglas, but Douglas isn’t dropping consistent 35’s like Cole and he’s only $500 cheaper.
Nando de Colo had his season high in points in the first meeting with Tel Aviv, and this is another good matchup for him. However, there are so many good CSKA guards that I kind of feel like they steal each other’s thunder. I think I would rather play Dino Hackett and Cory Higgins despite the lower floor. I also find myself leaning towards a Baskonia stack of Luca Vildoza and Matt Janning instead. Vildoza is pretty much a lock at this point.
Ownership is going to be all over the place today because Scottie Wilbekin and Deandre Kane both had 23 DraftKings points in the first game against CSKA. Michael Roll also had one of his better games in that one, putting up 31 DraftKings points. The floor on Roll is much lower though. The Baskonia or Tel Aviv backcourts will be the ones I target. I really wish I could play four guards today and stack both and just go cheap on bigs.
Nihad Dedovic looks pretty cheap at his price point. He isn’t a true value play unless you are fading all of the five figure guards, but he also has a nice matchup, and with Jovic struggling, should put up another strong game.
Albert Oliver is a fringe value pick with a decent floor. He is the main guard for Gran Canaria, but that team is mostly a mess. You are taking a risk playing any of them right now. I think I would rather chase Marcelinho Huertas in hopes that he gets extended run in this game as well. Huertas has 64.5 DraftKings points over the last three rounds, and will only set you back $6,300.
Markel Brown has a good matchup and is playing great when he is on the court, but I don’t want to mess with a debacle like Wednesday. Brown was supposed to be in, then he wasn’t. The same thing happened with Clevin Hannah. I’m not touching Brown, but at least he is listed as questionable this time. You can use Josh Magette in the meantime if you need to go really cheap.
Forwards:
Will Clyburn held his own against Tel Aviv in the first meeting, but holding his own isn’t going to get us the value we want from this price. I would rather turn to Derrick Williams, who has a really good matchup or Vincent Poirier, who has taken on a larger role with Shengelia out. Both of them have much better matchups as well.

19 year old phenom Goga Bitadze had his worst game, but he still put up a solid 24.5 DraftKings points against Tel Aviv. This is a really good matchup for him against Darussafaka. I would even consider fading Poirier here. Bitadze looks in for another big game.
The whole Barcelona front did well last game, but I have a hard time wanting to take a run at Athens right now. The team is 2-1, and playing with a lot of fire since Rick Pitino – yes, THAT Rick Pitino – took over coaching. Ioannis Papapetrou easily had his best EuroLeague round on Wednesday, and I really like his price here. DeShaun Thomas is worth a look as well since he has a nice floor.
Earl Clark keeping putting up good numbers despite Bitadze putting up huge numbers. I’m not against a Podgorica stack here. Darussafaka may not be back in the EuroLeague next year with the way they are playing.
Jeremy Evans and Alex Tyus are solid mid tier plays, but I think we need more value here. We could run with James Gist, who has been marginally better with Pitino at the helm. I would rather drop down to Tark Black, who put up 23.75 DraftKings points on Wednesday.
I don’t know how in the world Shavon Shields ended up priced higher than Johannes Voigtmann, but he did. Good for us! Voigtmann has been terrific, topping 25 DraftKings points in all three games since Shengelia went down. He’s still too cheap at $7,100. Kevin Seraphin is also playing well in this tier. Using that value combo would allow you to use whichever guards you please.
Jeff Brooks is a really nice value with Kaleb Tarczewski out, but I don’t really like the matchup. You will probably get more out of Darrun Hilliard at this level.
