Players costing $6,250 or under

Derrick Rose (vs NO – $6,100): Needs 28.3 fantasy points. Rose had 34.75 fantasy points against the Mavericks on Friday. His game has changed a little bit under a coach who doesn’t think he’s still the best player in the world, but he continues to play well. And I like the matchup with the Pelicans struggles against opposing perimeter players and on the road. Diagnosis: Good matchup and a high ceiling.

Marcus Smart (at ORL – $4,700): Needs 21.8 fantasy points. I don’t know what’s going on with the Celtics. They are now fighting each other, which is probably not a good thing. But I don’t worry about Smart. He might be the first one to fight his teammate, but he’ll also be the first one to run through a wall for them. And he’s been solid enough as a starter. Diagnosis: Reliable.

Bryn Forbes (at OKC – $4,400): Needs 20.4 fantasy points. Much like White, you know what you’re getting from Forbes. I continue to love pairing both of them up because at the very least you’re going to get value and there’s a good chance that one of them hits in a big way. And neither of them cost you much. Expect another solid outing from him in this one. Diagnosis: Reliable with a decent ceiling.
