Leicester face Southampton at King Power Stadium on Saturday, Jan. 12. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
Following midweek FA Cup games, the Premier League returns with games over the weekend. On Saturday, Leicester host Southampton at King Power Stadium. The Foxes are seventh in the table with 31 points as they chase a Europa League spot. Southampton are battling to avoid relegation. The Saints enter the weekend in 18th place with 16 points but are just two points from getting out of the bottom of the table.
Leicester have won three of their last four games in the Premier League but were knocked out of the FA Cup. Claude Puel decided to play his second team in the FA Cup, clearly prioritizing the Premier League over the cup competitions. The extra rest should help the Foxes as they chase a spot in the Europa League next season. Harry Maguire has been very good at the back for Leicester with Ben Chilwell. The two players have generated interest in the transfer market but the Foxes will not let either player leave. Up front, Jamie Vardy and James Maddison will lead the attack. The duo has combined for 12 goals and five assists this season.
Southampton went on a bit of a run after Ralph Hasenhuttl, picking up six points in their first three games. However, over their last three games, the Saints picked up only one point, holding Chelsea to a scoreless draw in their last game. If Southampton are going to steal a point from Leicester, they will need Danny Ings to score. Ings has had a strong season for the Saints, scoring seven goals this season.
