The Virginia Cavaliers take their perfect record on the road in ACC play as they take on a talented Clemson Tigers team on Saturday afternoon.
There has been a ton of buzz about ACC basketball this season and rightfully so. And yet, it feels like very few college basketball fans are talking about the Virginia Cavaliers. That’s highly surprising as the Cavs are 14-0 entering Saturday’s matchup against the Clemson Tigers, a road test for the undefeated quiet giants in early-season ACC play.
The Cavaliers, though they lost to 16-seed UMBC last year, have all the talent in the world this season, perhaps the best team we’ve seen out of Charlottesville in the Tony Bennett era. From DeAndre Hunter to Kyle Guy to Ty Jerome to many others, this Virginia team is 100 percent for real and not to be taken lightly in any regard.
Clemson is not a slouch team by any stretch of the imagination. This team entered ACC play with hopes to make some noise, though, and have started off quite poorly in that regard. Against two heavy hitters in Duke and Syracuse, the Tigers have fallen well short, dropping two straight.

If the Tigers want to compete with Virginia, seniors Marcquise Reed and Elijah Thomas need to lead the way in a massive manner. Even then, though, the Cavaliers may have too much firepower for the Tigers to contain.

As talented and dangerous as the Tigers can be, we saw them against Duke and they were simply not in the same class. While Virginia is an exponentially different type of team than the Blue Devils, they too have the talent and skill to overwhelm this Tigers team and pick up their 15th-straight win on the season.
