Denver Broncos

A team that will also address the future of the quarterback position after passing on the 2018 class is the Denver Broncos. The front-office took the short term approach with signing Case Keenum prior to the season. While Keenum was solid, the team saw that he is not the answer.

By trading away some big-name players, they signaled a changing of the guard. Clearly Denver wants to get younger and cheaper across the board.

Running the show in Denver is John Elway. The former runner-up for the Heisman at Stanford has been searching for a quarterback since Peyton Manning left. They whiffed on Paxton Lynch in the first round. Could Kyler Murray be their next shot?

Elway shares a connection with Murray. During his time at Stanford he played baseball. Elway was so good he was drafted by the New York Yankees in the second round. Like Murray he turned down baseball to play football (the right call!).

What better teacher for the former baseball player Murray than Elway.

Murray would not be entering a bare cupboard in Denver either. There is talent up front on their line, including a former first-round pick at left tackle. Undrafted rookie Philip Lindsay made a case for rookie of the year at running back.

On the outside, Emmanuel Sanders is going strong and joined by youngsters Courtland Sutton and DeSean Hamilton. Even sitting behind Keenum for a year could help Murray grow into a more NFL-ready quarterback.
