The San Francisco 49ers will hold the No. 2 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, after their first season with Jimmy Garoppolo was a full-time starter ended with four wins. Last season, Garoppolo was inserted into the starting lineup with five games left to play, and he led them to five straight wins, moving their record from 1-10 to 6-10.

That led to the 49ers being a preseason pick to possibly be a playoff team, especially after they brought in Jerick McKinnon at running back, and Richard Sherman at cornerback. Those guys where supposed to help lead this team in 2018, but McKinnon was injured in the preseason, and while Sherman had a good season, Garoppolo would end up joining McKinnon on the IR.

As they head into 2019, they do have talent on both sides of the ball, and will be looking to make their move in an NFC West that saw two teams head to the playoffs this season. Garoppolo should be ready to go for the season opener, as will McKinnon, giving the 49ers offense a much better look in 2019.

On defense, the 49ers need help on all three levels, and could go the route of picking the best player available. While Quinnen Williams did not have the best showing in the national title game, he does have the talent to be a standout player at the NFL level, and when the dust settles, he could be a Pro Bowl player in the NFL.
