Welcome to NHL DFS Man Advantage for Wednesday night January 16! Tonight we have a typically small Wednesday night slate with only 5 games tonight. San Jose is the only team on a back to back and there is a pretty good chance we get a back up in net for them.

With a small NHL DFS slate we usually don’t get this many top teams, but tonight is an exception. We get three of the best lines in hockey in Colorado, Calgary, and Boston as well as Edmonton and Connor McDavid.

NHL DFS Goalies:

Tonight’s top netminder is David Rittich ($8,100) at home versus Buffalo. Rittich is 7-1-2 in his last 10 starts and in his last start against Buffalo this season Rittich stopped 28 of 29 shots for a win. In his last ten starts Rittich has a 2.76 GAA and a .912 SV% and is averaging 5.1  FPPG

Another top option is Semyon Varlamov ($8,200) on the road against Ottawa. Varlamov stats will tell you not to play him, but he has a pretty good matchup for tonight against last Ottawa who comes in losing 9 of their last 11.

You can also consider Aaron Dell ($7,900) @ Arizona, and Mikko Koskinen ($7,600) @ Vancouver

NHL DFS Top Individual Players

High Tier:

Connor McDavid ($7,900) – McDavid has 3 assists in two previous games against the Canucks this season as well as averaging 3.5 FPPG. In his last 5 games McDavid has 5 goals and 3 assists and is averaging over 6 FPPG in that span. Unless Hitchcock changes his lines it looks McDavid is skating on the top line with Leon Draisaitl and Ty Rattie

Brent Burns ($6,700) – Burns and the Sharks head to Arizona to take on the Coyotes a night after battling the Penguins at home. Besides Burns being shut out Jan. 7 against Los Angeles, Burns has been on fire since Christmas, scoring at least two points in all but two of those games. Five of his goals have come since Christmas as well.

Mid Tier:

Matt Duchene ($5,900) – Hello revenge narrative, long time no see! Duchene had 2 goals earlier this against the Av’s and will look to continue his current hot streak against the team he was unceremoniously dumped by last season.  Duchene comes into tonight’s game riding a 4 game point streak with 3 goals and 2 assists.

Darnell Nurse ($5,300) – Nurse has a goal and 6 assists in his last 10 games with an average of 3.7 FPPG. Nurse plays along with McDavid and Draisaitl on the Oilers top PP unit.

Sean Couturier ($5,100) – Couturier has 1 goal, 5 assists, and 12 SOG in the Flyers last 4 games. After starting the season out slow Couturier has picked up the pace in the points department and is also averaging 5 FPPG in the last 4.

David Krejci ($4,700) – Krejci has a goal in 3 straight games and while Krejci is on the other side of his prime and he won’t have many more long goal scoring streaks it might be a good idea to take a flier on him tonight against the Flyers tonight.

Value Tier:

Erik Johnson ($4,200) – In a game that could be high scoring depending on which Colorado team shows up I want to try to find some cheap exposure. Johnson is cheap enough with some upside to make me interested in using him. I his last 5 games Johnson has 1 goal and 2 assists.

Michael Folik ($4,000) – Frolik has been quietly one of the hottest players in the league over the last 2 weeks. In his last 10 games Frolik has 10 points, 4 goals and 6 assists (which is total for assists on the season) as well as averaging 3.4 FPPG. Frolik plays on the Flames 2nd line with Mikael Backlund and Matthew Tkachuk

Vladimir Sobotka ($2,800) – Sobotka has been turning it on lately since he was bumped up to the Sabres second line, but now back on the third line hopefully his production can continue. In his last 4, Sobotka  has 3 assists and is averaging nearly 3 FPPG.

NHL DFS Line Stacks:

I am definitely using one of these lines tonight since I think most winning lineups will have one or pieces of multiples in them:

Boston 1

Calgary 1

Colorado 1

Other stacks I am interested in:

Buffalo 1

San Jose 2 or 3

Ottawa 2
