Is Will and Grace new tonight, January 17?
Fans of the NBC revival of Will & Grace will have a bit longer to wait before Will, Grace, Jack and Karen return to their TVs. Here’s what you need to know.
Will & Grace has been one of the most successful television reboots out of all of the reboots released over the past several years. It was one of the first, and it has remained one of the most beloved, seeming to get better and better as it goes along. The show bowed for the winter break in 2018 and it is coming back for the second half of its second season, but not quite yet.
Will & Grace will return on Jan. 31 with a brand new time. Instead of leading the nine o’clock hour it will air at 9:30 p.m., following Brooklyn Nine-Nine at 9:00 p.m.. Brooklyn Nine-Nine made its NBC debut on Jan. 10, which should be a great lead-in for Will & Grace when it returns a few weeks later.
There will be ten more episodes in the second half of season 2, but fear not because the show has already been renewed for season 3, which will also feature 18 episodes. When it comes to keeping track of the reboot, it’s slightly challenging because this is technically the show’s second second season, so the numbering of the new episodes matches those of the show’s first run on NBC and can make binge watching a tad complicated if you’re not careful.
There’s a lot to be said about the show’s staying power. It’s the highest rated comedy for NBC in years, and that’s partly due to the show’s built-in fan base and newcomers, as well as the show’s timeless appeal. If nothing else, the show is more relevant than ever and current events allow for timely and important stories told with a classic Will & Grace twist.
Will & Grace returns on January 31 at 9:30 PM on NBC.
