January 17th: NBA DraftKings Showdown Advice: Knicks v. Wizards
By Chris Brent
Welcome back readers of FantasyCPR! We are back with an NBA DFS DraftKings single-game showdown slate contest for the London game that will be happening today. Enes Kanter is out, for his own personal safety, we also need to follow the news on Mitchell Robinson and Tim Hardaway Jr.
Usually I do not play the NBA DraftKings Showdown slates, strictly because there is a wide range of outcomes that can happen and usually the salary cap is really difficult and you have to be creative to create the best lineup factoring in the captain position. However, today seems way too simple and I will let others pay the rake for me.
NBA DraftKings Showdown Core Plays:
Bradley Beal, WAS ($12,400)
Beal is the best play on this slate and honestly he’s the only captain that I am consider. Unless Beal gets hurt, he is going to be the highest scoring player on the slate and I want him in my captain spot. Plugging Beal into the captain spots gives you an average salary of $6,280 left per position. Without Wall on the floor, Beal is a 1.38 fantasy point per minute guy, posting a 33.6% usage rate.
Noah Vonleh, NYK ($6,800)
Washington is one of the worst rebounding teams in the league, and the Knicks are without Kanter today and might be without Mitchell Robinson as well. Vonleh has flashed rebounding upside, I expect without Kanter that Vonleh will see closer to 30-minutes. If Vonleh gets closer to 30-minutes, he is going to smash value as he is a 1.12 fantasy point per minute guy without Enes Kanter on the floor.
Luke Kornet, NYK ($5,600)
Kornet is a lock on this slate as the price is down, Kanter is already ruled out today and Mitchell Robinson is either going to be out or extremely limited. Kornet can get hot from and break through this price tag. Although he falls under just one point per minute without Kanter on the floor, he is very inconstant and has done so in limited time so far this season. When given opportunity, he has thrived. Kornet is my 3rd lock on this slate.
Also Consider:
Emmanuel Mudiay, NYK ($7,600); Mario Hezonja NYK ($5,200); Kevin Knox, NYK ($7,200); Thomas Satoransky, WAS ($8,000); Jeff Green, WAS ($6,200)
Best of luck to the readers of FantasyCPR!
