DraftKings EuroLeague Basketball Picks January 18
We are back to another balanced one round week for our DraftKings EuroLeague tournaments this week. It was a rough day for DraftKings EuroLeague yesterday. I had a -0.5 from Bogris and a measly two points from Mahmutoglu, yet still snuck into the top 25. Days like that don’t happen often, and they likely wont on this slate either. This DraftKings Euroleague slate is top heavy, and we’re going to have to hit on some of that value today. There isn’t the margin for error like there was yesterday.

The rotations can be frustrating sometimes as more players see the court than in your average NBA game. The games themselves are also shorter, playing four ten minute quarters as opposed to 12 minutes in the NBA. The court is smaller, the lane is bigger, and the three point line is closer, but the action is still what you would expect from world class basketball!
For DraftKings EuroLeague, we can’t expect 5x value like in the NBA. Most winning lineups are around 180-200 DraftKings points, which is around 3.5 – 4x value.

Guards:
Mike James is easily the top option, and it really isn’t close. James has 89.25 DraftKings points over the last two rounds. He put up 34 in the first meeting against Baskonia, and that could be the floor. James is expensive, but he’s worth it.
Nick Calathes has knee discomfort, so his status it up in the air. I’m not going to fade James for him anyway, but it could change the way that I approach the Athens backcourt. Keith Langford is also questionable, so here is where the value should be. Lukas Lekavicius is going to see more minutes, but he doesn’t do a whole lot with them. Nikos Pappas is worth a look too. The real sleeper here is Sean Kilpatrick, who made his Athens debut in a Greek League game and was a huge impact. I love him in this spot here.
Norris Cole and Toney Douglas have been really good in their EuroLeague games so far, but they both have poor matchups here. Does that matter? Cole underachieved in a good matchup last round in which Douglas outplayed him. I would play Douglas if I used either of them.
I think we could see Vasilije Micic go unnoticed with mot going to James or the other three former NBA players. Micic put up 26.25 DraftKings points the first time around against Darussafaka. He should at least do that again.
DraftKings finally raised the price on Luca Vildoza, but he still doesn’t seem overpriced for what he is capable of. Vildoza hasn’t been under 24 DraftKings points since December 7th.
I don’t really want to mess with the Efes backcourt behind Micic or the Real Madrid backcourt at all. Like many of the good teams in the NBA, they have too many producers, so you never know who is going to be the play for DFS. Marcelinho Huertas is the only one I would even consider in the middle tier. He really looks underpriced at $7,400.
Dairis Bertans looks like a solid value pick with Nemanja Nedovic expected to be out again. Curtis Jerrells is worth a look as well, but I would go for Bertans first. If you need another value guard, Dogus Balbay has at least 15 DraftKings points in back to back games.
Forwards:
It’s a lighter night up front. Adrien Moerman has by far the best matchup, and could be cheap for his price. Gustavo Ayon and Goga Bitadze look good too, but I think I’m leaning towards Moerman. Of course, there is enough value at guard that you could use all three if you really want to.

Vincent Poirier continues to be a force with Shengelia out, and his price still isn’t in five figures. Brandon Davies provides us another top option at forward. I don’t know if you can go wrong with any of the top six besides Gudaitis.
I kind of like Jeremy Evans and Bryant Dunston going against each other tonight. If building a more balanced lineup, I think they both come out of this one looking pretty good. Or you could just use Evans with Michael Eric instead of Dunston and stack the Darussafaka front.
Ioannis Papapetrou continues to flourish under Rick Pitino, and is way too cheap at his price. I feel the same about Johannes Voigtmann. You could use the two of them and fade the top tier entirely and not lose a ton of production. However, the downside is that you also forfeit the 40 DraftKings point upside.
If Shavon Shields ends up sitting with his bum ankle, I really like Darrun Hilliard as a value play. The Baskonia front has played out of their minds lately anyway, so any of them are good plays.
Jeff Brooks is worth a look in the value tier with Kaleb Tarczewski still out, but don’t expect much. That Baskonia front is really good. You’re probably better off dropping down to Edgaras Ulanovas, Stanton Kidd, or Jon Diebler.
