Liverpool face Crystal Palace at Anfield on Saturday, Jan. 19. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
Liverpool are four points ahead of Manchester City in the Premier League title race heading into the weekend. On Saturday, the Reds host Crystal Palace at Anfield. Palace are 14th in the table with 22 points but are only four points above the relegation zone.
After losing their first game of the season against City, Liverpool bounced back and beat Brighton 1-0 on Mohamed Salah’s Premier League best 14th goal of the season. Salah has been on fire lately, scoring seven goals in his last seven goals and adding four assists. Liverpool’s attack has been incredible this season, scoring 50 goals. Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane have both scored eight goals, while Xherdan Shaqiri has scored six goals. In addition to a strong attack, Liverpool have allowed a Premier League best 10 goals.
Crystal Palace have found themselves in a similar position the past few seasons. Palace have avoided relegation but are in the bottom third of the table. The Eagles lost 2-1 to Watford in their last game and have lost two of their past three games. Roy Hodgson will have to make a change in his starting XI. Keepers Vicente Guaita and Wayne Hennessey have both been dealing with injuries. Guaita was forced out of the game against Watford and replaced by Hennessey, who had missed the previous five games with an injury. While Hodgson has to deal with injuries to his keepers, Christian Benteke made his return after missing 17 games with a knee injury. While Benteke has struggled over the past season and a half, he is a proven Premier League goalscorer and should give Palace a bump up front.
