NFL Conference Championship DFS DraftKings Advice
Welcome back readers of FantasyCPR, we are here with some core plays to help guide you in constructing your DraftKings lineups for this NFL Conference Championship Weekend.
We have two matchups: Chiefs v. Pats and Saints v. Rams. Both games have a 3-point spread and both games are hovering around 56 points for the over/under.
Let’s dive in!
NFL Conference Championship Core Plays:
Tom Brady, NE ($5,800)
I was back and forth on Brady and Brees, I have decided that Tom Brady is my guy today. I really like Brady today as I think he is simply getting no respect this week and he is arguably the greatest player of all-time. Brady threw for 343 yards last week, he just only had one touchdown pass which lead to Brady only having 20 DraftKing Points. However, this Chiefs defense is not good and Brady has been here before. Despite being on the road, I think Tom Brady will be ready to play this week and will be prepared to light up the scoreboard. Let others do us the favor of fading Tom Brady.
James White, NE ($5,400)
White caught 15 passes last week, this is still way to cheap for that potential upside. No chance he’s catching 15 balls again this week, however he could catch 10 passes against this Chiefs team that struggles at defending pass catching running backs. McDaniels will exploit that matchup and White will be dominant. If you not putting White into your lineups this week, you’re likely going to lose.
Julian Edelman, NE ($6,600)
Edelman is matchup proof and is Tom Brady’s go-to target for $6,600. Usually in this Patriots offense, we struggle to know where the production is coming from. I think we know where it’s coming from now. Edelman caught 9 passes on 13 targets last week. White and Edelman combined for 30 targets last week. Play this combination with Tom Brady and hope touchdown variance works in our favor.
Robert Woods, LAR ($5,700)
I love Woods this week matched up in the slot against P.J. Williams. Woods only saw 8 targets last week, however, the Rams got away from the passing game last week because the running game was so effective last week. If you want to take a win, I think you have to take a stand on one of these Rams wide receivers and I’m going to take Robert Woods in the best matchup and hope that I hit it. I like Robert Woods for over 100-yards and a touchdown this week.
Fade of the Week:
Patrick Mahomes, KC ($6,600)
People are going to play Patrick Mahomes, I love Mahomes, as he has proved himself to be amongst the best of the young talent in the league, however as the weather has turned we have not really seen a massive game from him. Given the fact that he’s going to be the highest owned quarterback and the Patriots know that he is guy that they have to limit to win the game, I expect the Patriots to eliminate the big play. It’s been four weeks since Mahomes last 300 yard-game.
Deep Tournament Flyer:
Ted Ginn, NO ($4,300)
I played Ginn last week, he saw 7 targets and Drew Brees completely missed him on what would have been a wide open deep touchdown. Ginn’s going to get lose against Marcus Peters and we know the Rams do not want Michael Thomas to go for over 200 yards against them again. I expect Ginn to go massively over looked this week.
Rounding Out the Rest of My Player Pool:
QB: Jared Goff ($5,400)
RB: Damien Williams ($6,400)/ C.J. Anderson ($5,000)/ Todd Gurley LAR ($7,500)/ Alvin Kamara ($6,500)/ Sony Michel ($5,600)
WR: Michael Thomas, NO ($8,200) / Tyreek Hill, KC ($7,700)/ Brandin Cooks ($5,300)/ Sammy Watkins ($4,000)/ Tre’Quan Smith ($3,600)
TE: Travis Kelce, KC ($7,100)/ Rob Gronkowski, NE ($4,100)
Defense: Play what fits.
Best of luck in this week folks.
