New Orleans Saints: Sign TE Jared Cook

The New Orleans Saints had their magic going during the 2018 NFL season, playing well enough to earn the No. 1 overall seed in the NFC. Drew Brees set record along the way, the defense played at a high level, and the running back tandem of Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara excelled once again.

In their Divisional Round matchup, the Saints were able to knock off reigning Super Bowl champion Philadelphia, as Nick Foles could not muster the same wonderful run as the season before. New Orleans is a devastating team to play at home, and with home field advantage throughout the playoffs, they proved to be a tough out.

When it comes to the roster heading into next season, there are very few holes left for the Saints to fill. However, one area they could stand to improve is at tight end, where they may want to bring in a veteran who is coming off the best season of his career this offseason.

That player is Jared Cook, who had another breakout season for the Oakland Raiders in 2018. Since going to Oakland, Cook has led the Raiders in receiving for two straight seasons, proving to be the most reliable option for Derek Carr in the passing game. Brees loves his tight ends, and Cook is a good one.
