The Los Angeles Chargers posted the best record in the AFC in 2018, as they finished the year with a 12-4 mark. Unfortunately for the Bolts, the Kansas City Chiefs also notched a 12-4 record and held the tie-breaker, which meant they earned the No. 1 overall seed in the AFC.
After beating the Baltimore Ravens on the road in the Wild Card round, the Chargers headed East once again, but this time to face an old foe in Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. The Chargers had never beaten the Patriots with Brady under center, and that streak continued in the Divisional Round, as they were trounced.
The season did not end the way the team would have liked it too, but there is plenty to like about this team moving forward. They have already said that Philip Rivers will be back for the foreseeable future, giving them one of the more consistent regular season quarterbacks the NFL has seen in terms of putting up statistics.
On the defensive side of the ball, Los Angeles has two elite edge rushers in Melvin Ingram and Joey Bosa but could use some help on the interior. DreāMont Jones from Ohio State is a very versatile defensive lineman who could help this team right away, as they look to finally make it to the Super Bowl with Rivers as their quarterback next season.
