Welcome to NHL DFS Man Advantage for Wednesday January 23rd! Tonight we get a 6 game slate in the world of NHL DFS. Much like last night goaltending is an unmitigated disaster in my opinion. For me it pretty much comes down to either Carey Price or either starter from the Anahiem/St Louis game. As far as out of the net goes we get some great goal scoring teams the likes of Toronto, Vegas, and Colorado.

Tonight’s Schedule: (All Times EST)

7:30pm:

Washington @ Toronto

Arizona @ Montreal

9:30pm:

Minnesota @ Colorado

10:00pm:

Nashville @ Vegas

St Louis @ Anaheim

10:30pm:

Carolina @ Vancouver

NHL DFS Goalies:

This is another weak goaltending night but the man at the top of the list is one of the leauges best though, and that man is Carey Price ($8,200). Price comes in winning three straight starts and has allowed just 3 goals in those 3 games, including a shutout of Colorado. In his last 10 starts Price may only be 6-4, but when you look at his 1.71 GAA and .946 SV% you can tell he has been a hard luck loser and that he keeps his team in every game.

My other place to look for goaltending is the battle between Anaheim and St Louis out at the duck pond in Cali. Both starters are in play and make good fantasy options with these two teams in the bottom 6 in goals for per game ( St Louis is 25th with 2.79, and Anaheim 30th with 2.32). I probably would prefer Jordan Binnington ($7,800) over John Gibson ($7,500) as of now, but either you could end up with a good point total from your goalie.

My last pic is Frederick Andersen ($7,500) at home against the Capitals. Washington has put up 5 and 6 goals respectively in their last 2 games, bu still can’t find the win column and have lost 6 straight. Andersen is having a Vezina type season with 21 wins in 33 starts and a 2.54 GAA and a .922 SV%.

NHL DFS Top Forwards:

High Tier:

Viktor Arvidsson ($7,100) – Arvidsson comes into this big western conference tilt with 5 goals in his last 4 games. In the Preds last 4 Arvidsson is playing over 18 minutes per game and averaging 6.6 FPPG as well. Arvidsson and linemate Filip Forsberg get their center, Ryan Johansenback. Johansen has been on fire before his 2 game suspension with 2 goals and 9 assists in his last 10.

Elias Pettersson ($6,900) – Pettersson returned from injury on Monday afternoon with a goal on his first shot, and added an assist later as well. Vancouver went 2-1-2 with only 14 goals scored in the 5 games while Pettersson was out. In his return Pettersson skated with Brock Boeser and Josh Leivo making this line a nice inexpensive stack.

Ryan O’Reilly ($6,600) – O’Reilly comes into the matchup with Anaheim riding a 5 game point streak  with 2 goals and 5 assists during his streak. During his point streak O’Reilly is playing over 21 minutes of TOI per game and averaging 5.4 FPPG. O’Reilly along with Vladimir Tarasenko and Oskar Sundqvist make a good PP stack tonight as well.

Mid Tier:

Zach Parise ($6,000) – Parise is having his best season in nearly a decade with 20 goals and 23 assists in 48 games. With two new additions to the Wild ( Pontus Aberg and Victor Rask) as linemates, Parise has continued his hot play with points in back to back games

Max Pacioretty ($5,800) – Pacioretty has 2 goals and 3 assists in his last 4 games for Vegas as well as averaging over 18 minutes per game TOI and 5 FPPG. Max Pac plays on the Knights 2nd line with Paul Stastny and Alex Tuch  and also on the teams 2nd PP unit.

Tomas Tatar ($5,200) – Tatar is having the best year of his career and is on pace for the first 60 point season of his NHL career. In his last three games Tatar has 2 goals and 2 assists while averaging 4.7 FPPG.

Value Tier:

Charlie Coyle ($4,200)/Jordan Greenway ($3,800) – These two are a good, and very inexpensive mini stack in a road matchup with the Avalanche. Colorado is23rd in the league with 3.18 GA/G and this combo is a good way to get some cheap exposure while leaving you some cash to get the top guys from Toronto, or Colorado into your lineup.

Nick Bonino ($3,900) – Bonino comes into tonight’s game with 3 multi point games in his last 4 games (4 goals and 2 assists) and points in 5 of 6 as well. Bonino might see his minutes decrease with the return of Ryan Johansen, but with his play of late I am not sure coach Peter Laviolette can afford to keep Bonino off the ice.

Devin Shore ($2,900) – The newly acquired Shore has already been thrust onto the Duck top line alongside Rickard Rakell and Ryan GetzlafIn 4 games with the Ducks, Shore may only have 1 assist but he is seeing over 17 minutes on average per game TOI which is 5 minutes more per game than he was seeing in Dallas.

NHL DFS Top Defensemen:

Pay Up Dman:

My top dman to pay up for tonight is Alex Edler ($6,200). Edler is great at picking up peripheral stats averaging 4 FPPG in his last 10 games but only has 2 goals and 4 assists in those 10 games. In those 10 games Edler is averaging 2.5 BS/G and 2.6 SOG P/G which is good 4 an automatic 2 fantasy points plus any actual points he earns

More from FanSided

Other Options: Roman Josi ($6,400) , Jared Spurgeon ($4,900)

Pay Down Dman:

Travis Dermott ($2,800) is the top Dman to pay down for tonight’s game against Washington. Dermott has 1 goal and an assist in his last 4 and is averaging 2.7 FPPG in his last 4 games. On the season Dermott actually averages 2 more minutes per game at home, 18.4 as opposed to 16.4 on the road.

Other options: Nikita Zadorov ($2,700) , Ilya Lyubushkin ($2,700)
