High Salary PG

Players costing over $6,667

Russell Westbrook (vs NO – $12,200): Needs 52.1 fantasy points. Westbrook had 60 fantasy points against the Blazers on Jan. 22. You rarely have to worry about numbers when it comes to Westbrook. The Pelicans defense isn’t great and no Anthony Davis is going to mean more runs to the rim for Westbrook. And there’s no chance at a blowout because the Pelicans are scrappy and the Thunder don’t blowout scrappy teams. It’s a good spot for Westbrook, even at the high salary. Diagnosis: You can build around Westbrook with confidence.

Steph Curry (at WAS – $9,800): Needs 41.9 fantasy points. Curry was down to 38 fantasy points against the Lakers on Jan. 21. Curry is still a reliable option and his salary has lowered, which helps. He won’t be held to 11 points again and his assist numbers will remain up because it’s easy to get assists on this team with the talent they have and the way they play. And the Wizards are not good. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.

Derrick Rose (at LAL – $6,600): Needs 28.2 fantasy points. He’s under the salary line but injuries could limit your options. Rose was down to 16.7 fantasy points against the Suns on Jan. 22. Don’t be too concerned. He’s proven himself this season and the minutes will be there in this one. Trust him to bounce back in this game given the Lakers defense. His scoring numbers will be up and he’ll get his assists. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.
