Magic
MIAMI, FL – FEBRUARY 5: D.J. Augustin /

High Value PG

Players costing $6,250 or under

DJ Augustin (vs WAS – $5,100): Needs 23.8 fantasy points. Augustin had 35.75 fantasy points against the Nets on Jan. 23. He’s been good for the Magic during this stretch. You can also look at Bayless in this spot because the Timberwolves are without a guard and Bayless is at a low enough salary to where he’ll definitely contribute. Both are nice low-cost options. Diagnosis: Both Augustin and Bayless are reliable options. Bayless may have a higher ceiling just due to circumstances.

Malcolm Brogdon (vs CHA – $5,800): Needs 27 fantasy points. Brogdon had 38.5 fantasy points against the Mavericks on Jan. 21. Much like Bledsoe, he’s been good this season but has been limited by blowouts. And much like I said with Bledsoe, I think this game will be competitive, which will help Brogdon’s value. You can also look at Dennis Smith Jr who looks to be out to prove a point. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a good ceiling.

Allonzo Trier (at BKN – $4,700): Needs 21.9 fantasy points. Trier was up to 51 fantasy points against the Rockets on Jan. 23. I guess he’s going to play minutes for the Knicks but who really knows with them. His minutes could easily disappear. But he’s playing well right now and the Knicks are definitely going with a youth movement so I will trust him in the spot. The Knicks should get some offensive numbers in this one. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a high ceiling.
