DraftKings EuroLeague Basketball Picks January 25

We are back to another balanced one round week for our DraftKings EuroLeague tournaments this week. We have a lot of high prices on this slate, but there is some decent value to put a couple of them in your lineups. Which ones should we aim for?

More from DFS

The rotations can be frustrating sometimes as more players see the court than in your average NBA game. The games themselves are also shorter, playing four ten minute quarters as opposed to 12 minutes in the NBA. The court is smaller, the lane is bigger, and the three point line is closer, but the action is still what you would expect from world class basketball!

For DraftKings EuroLeague, we can’t expect 5x value like in the NBA. Most winning lineups are around 180-200 DraftKings points, which is around 3.5 – 4x value.

Guards:

Alexey Shved finally has a questionable designation, but it is widely believed that he will sit out this round and return in round 21. Keep an eye on this just in case though. Stranger things have happened in the EuroLeague. Even if Shved is in, I don’t really have an interest. He’s bound to be limited. There are better options to spend on today.

We have three really good options at the top though, with Norris Cole getting a crack at Gran Canaria. I may trust Toney Douglas a little more against Baskonia because that game should stay close. Cole has the higher ceiling, but Douglas’s floor is much safer. Out of all of them though, Luca Vildoza looks like the best option. He has played well no matter the opponent. Vildoza has at least 22 DraftKings points in each of the last eight rounds. The other two can’t say that.

I like Thomas Heurtel in this matchup against CSKA. He put up 24.75 DraftKings points on them the first time.  Beyond that, Sergio Rodriguez will be a really good play if Cory Higgins is held out again.

Darussafaka isn’t normally a team I attack, but Marcelinho Huertas is playing so well that I want to stack him with Vildoza. This is still a really good matchup, and they are priced to do it.

I am completely done toying with the Munich backcourt and trying to figure out who gets value with Shved out. This looks like a day to play Edwin Jackson. The only Munich guard I will even consider right now is Petteri Koponen.

Pau Ribas has been a really good value play lately, topping 20 DraftKings points in two of the last three games. The bad part is that in the one he missed, Ribas had just 8.75 DraftKings points. The only other value pick that I am really interested in is Kartal Ozmizrak with Markel Brown still out. There is too much what if in the Podgorica and Gran Canaria backcourts right now with the status of Hannah, Ivanovic, and Radisevic all up in the air.

DAYTON, OH – MARCH 24: Will Clyburn #21 of the Iowa State Cyclones handles the ball against the Ohio State Buckeyes in the second half during the third round of the 2013 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament at UD Arena on March 24, 2013 in Dayton, Ohio. (Photo by Joe Robbins/Getty Images) /

Forwards:

Will Clyburn is the clear top option, and he should be Clyburn put up 29.25 DraftKings points against Barcelona the first time around and has not been under 20 DraftKings points since November 23rd.  You could still make a case for using Jordan Mickey despite the bad matchup simply because he is the main scorer with Shved out. I don’t see a reason to today though with Goga Bitadze, Vincent Poirier, and Derrick Williams all having great matchups. I could make a case for playing both Bitadze and Poirier over Clyburn here.

This matchup for Will Clark is hard to ignore, even with his production on the decline with Bitadze in action. You could say the same for Coty Clarke. For me though, Johannes Voigtmann is playing too well to pass up right now and he’s about the same price.

Darrun Hilliard looks good as well, but I think it’s a trap with Shavon Shields back in action. I don’t really want either one of them right now until I see how this is going to play out. D.J. Strawberry looks much safer at the same price point. Even Kevin Seraphin is worth a look over those two right now.

Value is a little hard to come by at F today, but Nikita Kurbanov looks like a good place to go. His minutes are on the rise, and he has 48.25 DraftKings points over the last three rounds for less than $6,000.
