The Tennessee Volunteers could certainly be the best team in the country. The West Virginia Mountaineers are certainly one of the worst in the Big 12. This game really doesn’t seem all that fair.

It’s not unreasonable to think that the West Virginia Mountaineers might be in over their heads a bit. West Virginia is headed on over to Knoxville, Tennessee and will get the opportunity of challenging the Tennessee Volunteers. That opportunity probably won’t be all that pleasant given that Tennessee is arguably the best team in the country.

The Vols have the the No. 1 ranked men’s basketball team for a reason. Tennessee has one of the best offenses in the country as the Vols score 86.2 points per game. Coming into Tennessee’s game against West Virginia, the Vols are only giving up 67.5 points per game.

The Vols can score and they’ll score on just about everyone. And, well, not just anyone can score on Tennessee this season. That means that the Vols will probably try to make this, and every other game they play, a high scoring affair.

Grant Williams and Admiral Schofield are going to be responsible for any sort of incredible offensive explosions on the part of Tennessee. These two Vols combine to score 37 points per game, grab 13.9 rebounds per game, and then dish out 6.3 assists per game.

West Virginia will probably have fun trying to slow Williams and Schofield down.

West Virginia doesn’t have a single win away from Morgantown this season. The Mountaineers have struggled when it comes to road games. This, by all definitions, counts as a road game. But, there is certainly one game of note that should be considered here. That game is West Virginia’s win over Kansas.

Granted, Kansas also happens to be really bad away from home, but that sort of win is huge. The Mountaineers will try to take down another elite team, just as they did against Kansas earlier this season.
