The Virginia Cavaliers are taking to the road and are looking to defeat the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on a nationally televised game. Here’s what you need to know.

Nobody really wants to play the Virginia Cavaliers this season. This team is remarkably good and almost impossible to defeat. The Cavaliers are experienced and talented and are winning their games by an average of over 21 points per game. Most of that boils down to just how good Virginia is on defense.

The Cavaliers, offensively, really aren’t anything all that special. They only score 73.7 points per game and make 47.8 percent of their shots, but it’s Virginia’s defense that really makes this team borderline invincible.

Virginia holds its foes to 52.4 points per game. On top of not really scoring a ton, Virginia’s opponents aren’t making many shots, getting just 37.4 percent of their shots to fall. So, when the Notre Dame Fighting Irish host the Cavaliers, they’ll have to play at a new level.

As of right now, Notre Dame’s offense really isn’t all that special. The Fighting Irish score just 74 points per game and have only hit 41 percent of their shots this year. Notre Dame is currently on a three-game losing streak and will have a difficult time getting a win over the Cavaliers if the Fighting Irish offense doesn’t somehow improve drastically.

How to watch the Fighting Irish vs. the Cavaliers

Up to this point in the season, Virginia only has one loss this year. The Cavaliers came up just short of beating the Duke Blue Devils, losing by a couple of points last week. Notre Dame doesn’t quite have the caliber of team necessary to really challenge Virginia right now. UVA shouldn’t just win this game. The Cavaliers should come out on top by a large margin.
