DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – January 27, 2019
High Salary C
Players costing over $6,250
Karl-Anthony Towns (vs UTA – $10,500): Needs 49.9 fantasy points. Towns had 60.5 fantasy points in 29 minutes against the Jazz on Jan. 25. If the man could stop fouling and stay on the floor then he might be unstoppable. The fact that he held his own against Gobert the other night has me confident he can do the same while at home on Sunday. And he’s been a monster for the better part of this season. Diagnosis: Very reliable (if he doesn’t foul) with a high ceiling.
Rudy Gobert (at MIN – $8,500): Needs 40.4 fantasy points. And while Towns played well, Gobert had 54 fantasy points against the Timberwolves in that matchup. He’s been playing fantastic as well, though his ceiling isn’t quite as high as Towns’. But he’s also a much cheaper option.I still like Gobert in this matchup and he and Towns should put on a show once again. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.
Hassan Whiteside (at NY – $6,900): Needs 32.8 fantasy points. A quick not on Nikola Vucevic, who has a great matchup against the Rockets given the Rockets frontcourt issues. He’s a reliable option but the addition of Faried makes it slightly tougher sledding. That’s why I like the inconsistent Whiteside. Because he gets the Knicks. And the Knicks stink. The minutes aren’t always there, but he should make it happen even in limited minutes given how bad the Knicks are. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a good ceiling.
