This is actually two separate trades because Justin Holiday can’t be traded in combination with other players before the trade deadline because of the trade to acquire him from the Bulls earlier in the season. But the goal here is for the Kings to improve on the margins while also sending Zach Randolph back to Memphis to retire.

Parsons is done in Memphis and will either reach an agreement on a buyout or stay away from the team for the length of his contract. Moving him to Sacramento gives him a chance to work on recovering in the Pacific time zone and away from a negative situation. Adding Green gives the Kings a bench forward to use instead of Kosta Koufos, who shouldn’t be playing over Harry Giles or Marvin Bagley III in the first place.
