Superbowl Sunday: A Day of Giving – Presenting DraftMates: A New DFS Way
By Shaun Evans
Welcome everyone! It is Superbowl week and it’s time to prepare for the festivities! Do you have your bbq planned out? Appetizers ready? Drinks stocked up? What about your daily fantasy needs? But what if I told you that there is a new app coming to the Sports industry but instead of a full day of tilt, it gives you a full day of happiness knowing that your money is actually going to a good cause. Well you’re in luck and so are we as this new DFS app has chosen us to give a little debut for them! Lets dive into the new world of “DraftMates”, a new way of giving and playing daily fantasy sports!
DraftMates – A New DFS Way
This NFL season has been one for the ages as I hopped into the industry giving out “lock plays” and interacting with you guys as it went by and now we’re to the point of the biggest NFL event of the year, the Superbowl! We all get together and bbq while watching the big game and judging every single commercial that we see. But what if we did things a little different this Sunday?
While I’ve had the joy and excitement of bringing some top picks and lock plays” for you guys but what if this Sunday, we all join together and give back? We are partnering up with a new Sports App called “DraftMates” where the money we pay for entry fees goes to a charity of your choice, meaning the tilt won’t happen as everyone is in a win-win situation. While we have “Draftkings” and “Fandue”, DraftMates is more unique with where the money actually goes, giving us all a little sign of happiness knowing we did a good deed at the end of the day.
So on Superbowl Sunday, FantasyCPR will be hosting a contest for anyone to join at the low cost of just $5 that will go to the American Heart Association, a charity that hits pretty close to home with me and a lot of others also. Let me explain why:
I was born with a heart condition known as a heart murmur (it has a longer name but it’s too complicated to spell and dive in too) and at the age of 6 months, I had open heart surgery. This surgery replaced a value that would help my blood pump more “smoothly” through my heart instead of just halting the blood. Due to this heart condition, I was restricted from playing any sport that would put my chest at risk of getting hit since my chest bone is weaker then most and I also couldn’t overwork my heart. That still didn’t stop me from hitting the black-top at lunch to play basketball with my friends though, I knew my limits.
But with heart murmurs, there are multiple conditions and levels to it to where some people can have the heart murmur suddenly pop up but quickly be fixed. Like Shareef O’Neal, Shaquille O’Neal’s son, actually had surgery for a similar heart complication a few weeks ago, he’ll be back on the court. Something we love to hear because who wants to see a rising star set back by a heart condition or even any condition?
Helping The American Heart Association will help us move up in with technology and procedures to beat these conditions before the conditions even put another person at risk for further complications in the future. Like I said, this one hits home and having the opportunity to help host the first tournament on DraftMates means more to me then most will know.
Hop on to the next way to see how to join me and the others at FantasyCPR in this contest to raise money for The American Heart Association!

With the DraftMates app, it’s very similar to others in the industry. To create a line-up, you get to choose a play for the following positions:

1. Quarterback | 2. 1 Running back | 3. 1 Wide Receiver | 4. 1 Tight End | 5. One Defense | 6. Wildcard – a player who isn’t normally a factor but in a game like the Superbowl, will be the deciding factor for you to get that top, first place.
Scoring is the same as Draftkings also so there won’t be a learning curve when it comes to that. So remember, DraftMates is unique in it’s own way with raising money for charities and it’s own unique, sleek look. Plus the one thing that I love since I’ve downloaded the app, it runs smoother then most start-up apps with basically no bugs. So join us at FantasyCPR in raising money for the American Heart Association and hopefully cause so much traffic, we crash the app for a few seconds!
