Disclaimer: Every basketball parlay in this series is going to be a simple 4-legger. A 4-leg basketball parlay is RISKY so approach with caution and avoid tossing full unit bets on these picks.

Last night’s parlay went 3/4 and was a bum 3rd quarter in the Knicks-Hornets game (combined 33 points in the quarter… WHAT?) from hitting with a hefty +1290 payout. With a big slate of NCAA games to go with 7 NBA games, we have a wealth of options to pick from to build out our parlay.

In keeping with the theme of last night’s parlay, we’ll look for a mix of two NBA and two NCAA games to build out our parlay for tonight’s slate.

Basketball Parlay of the Day

  • Virginia (-8) @ North Carolina State
  • Ball State @ Buffalo (-11.5)
  • Bulls @ Nets (-7)
  • Pelicans @ Rockets – OVER 234

Virginia Cavaliers vs North Carolina State Wolfpack – 7:00pm ET

I’ve said it before and i’ll say it again, Virginia might be the most well-rounded basketball team in the nation right now. As usual, Virginia boasts an extremely deep roster that plays some of the best team defense. However, this year, Virginia has the offensive talent to really make teams pay.

De’Andre Hunter and Kyle Guy have emerged as offensive weapons that spearhead one of the nations most efficient offenses. They thrive by slowing games down and tend to blow teams out of the water by over 20 points on average in ACC play. Their pack-line defense is extremely effective and most teams don’t have the combination of three point shooting and playmaking prowess to disrupt Virginia’s scheme.

North Carolina State is by no means a cakewalk and have had an extremely solid season to date, but the fact remains that no team that isn’t named Duke has made Virginia sweat on the year. NC State has thrived on beating up the weaker opponents in the ACC and should get a tough reality check from an incredibly deep Virginia team.

Basketball Parlay Pick #1: Virginia Cavaliers (-8)

Basketball Parlay – Ball State Cardinals vs Buffalo Bulls – 7:00pm ET

Ball State has really struggled since entering MAC play, going just 2-5 on the year so far. While their strategy of pushing the pace on offense initially found them some success on the year against weaker mid-majors, but since facing the stiffer competition of the MAC, their offense has essentially become nonexistent.

Buffalo dropped an uncharacteristic game to Northern Illinois a few days back, but outside of that have looked the part of one of the better teams in the nation. Behind the stellar multi-level scoring of C.J. Massinburg, the Bulls have relied on one of the nations most dangerous offenses to power their way through a number of quality wins on the year.

Ball State shouldn’t be able to slow down the Bulls offense and if their MAC play indicates, probably won’t be able to do much scoring of their own. Even if they do put up a fight early, expect Buffalo to be more than equipped to handle anything Ball State throws their way. Buffalo is 9-0 at home on the year with almost every win coming by double digits. Don’t look for that trend to change tonight.

Basketball Parlay Pick #2: Buffalo Bulls (-11.5)

NEW YORK, NEW YORK – DECEMBER 18: D’Angelo Russell #1 of the Brooklyn Nets reacts during the final minutes of the fourth quarter of the game against the Los Angeles Lakers at Barclays Center on December 18, 2018 in New York City. Basketball Parlay –  Chicago Bulls vs Brooklyn Nets – 7:30pm ET

The Bulls recently cemented themselves as a frontrunner in the race for Zion Williamson with a loss to the Cavaliers. Meanwhile, the Nets were winners of six straight prior to their loss to the Celtics.

Although the Nets lack the big name power of most other NBA teams, they are undoubtedly one of the better teams the Eastern Conference has to offer. D’Angelo Russell has emerged as a legitimate #1 option while Jarrett Allen has proved himself to be a potential handful down low.

The Bulls on the other hand are one of the weakest teams defensively in the league and haven’t been able to hold halfway decent teams to under 100 points. While they have some exciting young pieces, they don’t boast a complete enough roster to really be able to play with competent teams.

Baby Dirk has looked great since coming back and Jabari Parker has been a feel good story as he works his way back into the rotation, but on the whole, things are grim in Chicago. Don’t expect this game to be remotely close as the Nets should win easily by double digits.

Basketball Parlay Pick #3: Brooklyn Nets (-7)

New Orleans Pelicans vs Houston Rockets – 8:00pm ET

It isn’t every day that you get the opportunity to bet an outrageous over of 234, yet that is precisely what we have in store tonight.

The Pelicans and Rockets don’t play much defense, but both can score in spades. There really shouldn’t be too much thinking in this one, instead just sit back and enjoy some fast paced basketball with tons of scoring. Expect a high powered shootout with monster days from both Harden and Davis.

Basketball Parlay Pick #4: OVER 234

Total Payout: +1200 (varies from book to book)
